I have 2 510's with the same boxkeys. I just subbed. Friend has one. It says unit not autrozied (spelling)...I assume I have to call and give the info on the screen, IRD number and CAM number. On the first one, can I just give the info that's in it without changing anything. And the second one, I assume I have to change the boxkey's to something else. Will I lose everything on the HD...Thanks

Normally the box keys do not matter. You are not supposed to know the box keys. You should know the ird number which is the R00 xxxx xxxx number on the back of the rec or if you push menu 6 1 3 then you will see the smart card number S00 xxxx xxxx and the R00 xxxx xxxx numbers. When you sub if you have a virgin yellow card it will marry any rec you put it in. If you don't have a yellow card and Dish sends you one then it will marry the rec you put it in and it will also except the box keys. A virgin card excepts the box keys also. You can't have a box that has the same ird numbers but box keys are ok. If you have the same ird numbers you will have to change them to different ones. The actual ird number for that box should be on the back of the box. Call dish and make sure no money is owed against that box.

I hope this helps,
Joe

So if I change the IRD number back to the orginal number....will I lose the recordings on the HD. It's been awhile since I've had to do this, to change the IRD number, is that done in flash edit. Thanks

Yes you will loose the recordings. The hard drive must be quick zeroed and I would make sure to set the LBA back to the 120 GB. The board must be reflashed to P080 first then set the LBA and do a quick zero hook everything back up and the board will mary the hdd. Then flash it back to P302 Do some searches and look for my posts and pm me if you have questions.

Just an idea if you wait till you can program the ird number to the yellow card then you could activate both receivers at 1 time. That might be 1week and it might be never.

You call dishnet with your yellow card id numbers and your ird numbers. Tell them you know someone that is selling them and wanted to check to see if money was owed against them first.
