If you read here or unwink, you would know sector 31 doesn't erase sometimes and that's ok.....it may not fully program either, it may give you an error at about 97% but that's ok too.
The only chip with more than 31 sectors is the STM28W.

Also if you cut trace, you only need 3.3v to enable it, 5v may work tho.....if you were able to get the sectors to erase, and it sounds like you were at that point, it should reflash ok....use the flash from dssftp, the 4th on the list under files for nozkt mods.

Here's what unwink says, it doesn't say anything about 31 sectors tho...
If there are some locked sectors in your flash, you'll get an error here. Its safe to ignore the error, its just telling you that there were some parts of the flash that weren't erased.
Now that the portions of the chip that we want to program are blank, you can click the "program" button. If the flash isn't blank you will again get an error. You can ignore that error. Essentially jkeys is telling you that it found the sectors that it wasn't able to erase before. Click yes to proceed and then chose the file you want loaded to the flash chip. Wait 5 - 10 minutes for it to program. Near the end of the programming process, you may get one more error. That's just jkeys telling you that it couldn't write to the areas of the flash that weren't blank.

Problem with unwink is, there are three known flash types now and he doesn't cover them all except to say that there are different flashes....
The M28W is the only bugger, it has the 71 sectors that must be individually unlocked......
And where he shows to cut the trace makes it difficult to apply the 3.3v to enable the chip.
