Sorry for asking questions that's probably been answered many times but I'am a newbie and don't know much, question is: (Pansat 2700A receiver) there was a new channel list that came out on the 19th for the 2700a but I'am asuming that it was for dishpro LNB's because I get no signal with my dish 500 with legacy lnb's with the built in switches. Can the new Channel list be converted to work with the legacy lnb's? I have the channel master program but I don't know if thats what the program is used for or not. Thanks

So far I have not been able to get any DN legacy LNBF with a built in switch to work with FTA. Using a 2700A myself and been trying out a bunch of stuff. No problem using legacy equipment that does not have a switch built in. Using a discq switch. Or for that matter any DP equipment using DP34 or DP twin with the switch built in.
Seems the Legacy LNBF's with built in switchs are just not compatable with FTA receivers at this time. May never be as they use a unique switching system that only seems to work with DN equipment.

Hello t160hg, What are you using for a channel line up I have tried everything and nothing will convert the channels to match the dish line up. I have a 2700a also with legacy LNB's. thanks 68vette

What is the difference between DTV 3x4 switch and a diseq switch

What's a Pansat 4 way Diseq switch considered? I'm confused.

When I do a channel lineup for the receiver I do what works.
I would be real intrested in a channel and setup that is far less time consuming than my method. Although this works IMO it takes far too much time.
First I load the bin for basic operation.
Next I set up the diseq switch in the sat installation menus. In my case it's:
1 for 119
2 for 110
3 for 61.5
All the new n2 bins seem to reset all settings back to intial bootup for lack of a better explaination. Which means you have to start from square one on both sat setup for the discq switch and transponder setup.
Next I do a blind scan for all three sats. At this point I would like to say this takes far too much time. But it seems to be necessary to a sucessful install. Plan on at least 30 to 50 minutes if doing three sats.
So far I created one guide and in multiple setups from scratch (new basic bin loaded) I haven't had to reload or change this. I highly recommend creating your own personal guide based on your preferences. Near as I can tell the guide is a one time deal. Get the Channel Master guide editing software create your own personal guide and go from there. Once you find the total lists and pair it down to the 400 or 500 channels that will suit you then you are good to go. You can always modifiy it later.
Loading is of course occomplished later with the approiate loader written for your receiver brand and model. Only on pansat can I say this appears to be a one time deal unless changes are required.
After creating a guide I load it with pansat's loader:
Ch Editor 187 (pansat 2700A).exe
Once loaded it seems to be permament at least on the 2700. If you are using the same switch setup every time. Switch bewteen DP and Discq and you have to change the guide. Easily done with channel master. Which I won't go into yet as it seems to do far more than I have currently learned to utilize. Once I get a better handle on it I'll see about a how to on it.
