Hello,

I am new to the FTA stuff, and need some assistance.

Basically, i am determined to somehow get the European Channels: Eurosport, Eurosport 2 and MotorsTV. I am in Chicago.

I found that Intelsat 801 at 31.5°W has this package (its in French i know).

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/canalsatcaraibes.html

according to lyngsat, i am able to recieve the signal in my region of the USA. Now, what will i need to get it? What kind of receiver would i need? It looks like this is encrypted, so how would i go about getting it decrypted? I know this is a stupid question, its just there are so many diffrent ways out there on this forum and if someone can point me to one specific dish / receiver / decoder i need, that would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance

thanks.

Any fta will work if you can dycrpt the keys. For multiple sats you will need a switch. Here is a list of reciever that will probably work. follow the link or read the stickies posted in this thread http://www.dssftp.com/forum/t48716-receivers-with-a-working-n2-fix.html

thanks.

Is N2 = Nagravision 2?

because the encryption on the satelitte that i have to get would be Mediaguard 2.

thanks

yes. So you will need files that will decrypt mediaguard 2

Try FTA site dedicated to FTA. This is not dedicated to FTA site. I don't know of any. Someone might point out some for you.

I guess FTA will not decrypt VideoGuard, yet!

ok, i found 2 more sat's that have eurosport

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/trend.html

Intelsat 907 at 27.5°W using Conax encription.

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/dphispa.html

and Hispasat 1C/1D at 30.0°W using Nagravision 2

so could i actually decode this one using a N2 thing? If so, can someone point me to a topic in the forum that clearly explains what you have to do?

thanks a lot

Just don't get a Pansat 2500 it's a discontinued model and the 2700 has twice the processor speed.

Just so you know, if it's European, it may not be using Dishnet Nag2. The European Nag2 is different, and the same flash will not work for both European, and NorthAmerican (Dick) streams.

Can somebody with a view of that bird have a look and check it out for the guy?

Videoguard, Iredeto.. etc, are NOT hacked AFAIK.

You may also want to check the footprint for those satellites, as they are pretty easterly, and you may not be able to see them from wherever you live.
