Does anyone know how to tighten up the steering box on a 1995 dodge ram? I am told its extrememly easy to do. I asume you just pop that cap off the bottom of the steering box and check if its loose at all. Anyone ever done this? Also if anyone has a detailed explaination of pulling a dash out of those pm me.

On the top of the box, there is a allen head screw with a nut around it.
Hold the screw still with the right size hex key and loosen the nut about 3/4 turn.
Now holding the nut still, turn turn the allen screw in 1/2 turn at a time till the slop is gone.
Tjghten the nut back up after you have made your adjustments, you should be good to go.

sweet, thanks man. i hope that corrects my problem. seems to shimmy around 90 - 120 km/h or 60 - 70 mph for those of you south of the frozen north. i have had the whole front end done with high quaility parts. i just tossed some different tires on there this morning so we'll see if that helps first

You need to replace your track bar. It is the bar that is about 1 and half inch in diameter that attaches to the frame on the driver side and go to the passenger side and attaches to the differential.

If you have someone move the wheel back and forth while you are looking at it, you will see that where it attaches to the frame, moves a lot!!

just about every dodge i have had has always been the u-joint ahead of the box is no good and it is a real bad set up. you can cut it out and put in a pto joint. i have seen some good after manufactures on the inernet also. check that for slop

Actually that was what the guy at the tireshop said to as he was putting on my tires but aparently its fine. Actually the new tires straightened it right out. runs pretty good now. So to give her a good test I am going right now to drive through some fields and see if I can find the deer I shot last night.
