LNB'S & DISHES THAT DO NOT WORK WITH FTA
(Please note if you replace the dish 500 "Fatboy" LNB to 2 legacy LNBs, you can use this dish with a disecq switch)

You can use any dish as long you change or have the rigth LNBs and aim your dish properly!!! And use the proper LNB holder!!!

I have just hooked one up 2hours ago, working fine on 119 and 110.
All ppv ,all porn ,locals and etc.
The trick is in configuring in setup.
And also NO disqc switch is needed.
I always heard the same thing pish pro lnb's dont work, cause thet have a
built in switch witch combine 119 & 110 .
Well mine works fine.
Oh another thing your channel list has got to be converted to Dish pro
with can be done easily in the new Channel master prog. :)

I have the chance to pick up a Primestar dish. I haven't got into DVB or FTA yet, just waiting a little longer. Should I get the dish and what sats will it work for? All? Thanks

Is the Bev's LNB before is the same of the one they use right now?
Can we use it to get 121w?
.
I see with my eyes that my friend get 121w with Bev 18" and OLD dual Bev lnb!
I remmeber Bev technecian came to my house to change Dish.I remmeber Bev technecian came to my house to change Dish(18"->24").However, I never heard Bev changed their LNB.
Old dual Bev lnb = Linear ?
I know the the Bev uses right now can not get 121w.
He tried without sucess last weekend.
Today, he just changed to Old bev lnb (he said it a Old bev lnb) and he get the TV!
Imagine with 18" bev+ Old bev lnb, he get the signal & quality as the mine (90cm + Universal lnb)
Can i get 121w with a 18" dish and a legacy lnb?

Are you using the switch to combine both inputs i.e. 110+119 and 148 thru the switch? and what setting you used in Pansat meu.

Some of the original info/pics are not correct. I'm Using that tripple Dtv LNB (shown in pic 2) and using the 4th output of the LNB (counting left to right) pointed at 119 - works like a champ. I'm using the EXACT Terk dish setup (shown in pic 4) with tripple LNB to pick up 119. Of course it will not pick up two sats because of the built in multiswitch, but using a one side of a DP500 LNB to get 110.
I am also using a SW-21 to combine these two seperate dishes, hooked up to a Coolsat. Many have said a SW-21 won't work with FTA, but its working just fine with my setup for over a year. When using the SW-21, I've noticed switching between sats. and transponders using the SW-21 is slower than a DiSEqC 2.0. The SW-21 takes 1-3 times as long to switch and lockon a transponder VS a real DiSEqC.
Take the first post with a grain of salt guys.
Cheers

HI all.
After a long while of irritating switch problems, and trying all sorts of solutions, I finally found a fix.
IMHO, the basic problem is getting the switch to properly read the 22Khz control data from the receiver/card. Most (all?) switches pass the 22khz signal through the switch and on down towards the lnbs (for cascading, etc). Without hooking up a 'scope to the lines, Im not certain if the 22khz signal is being drawn down (low impedance at this freq) or is being refected back up to the switch by the lnb.
The magic bullet I would like to suggest, is an inline coaxial attenuator. Radio Shack has these (for the NA users anyhow..). It's DC passing, and 6db attenuation up to 1000Mhz. I realize that the 1000 Mhz lies in our operating range of frequencies, but there seems to be no sig level loss. I suspect that the roll off of the filter is pretty low at the top end.
In effect, this chokes off some of the 22khz signal from going out to the lnb.
I only had to put one unit in, on the port that was acting "sticky" all the time. Switches like a dream now.
Hopefully this helps someone. For $3US ($5 cdn) each, its a cheap test.

I am using Dishpro twins (ones in the won't work section pictured above) and they get about 10-15 untis stronger signal strenght than the legacy one recommended in the picture at the top of the page. I am using a desq 1.2 and a coolsat 4000pro
Someone should change the picture at the top of the page, it wrong and misleading.

the one your referring to is a Legacy Twin, which does not work well with FTA...your speaking of the Dish Pro's which do work. The LNB's look similar but the DishPro LNB's say DishPro on them, legacy's only say dish network i think
