I have a subbed system getting both satellites. I load the al7bar bin on my fortec ultra and can't pick up one satellite. Tried different combinations, ie, with and without diseqc. I have the old legacy lnb's. Even tried direct from lnb to receiver and still can't download from satellite, but my sub runs smooth. What gives?

Are you trying to use the signal off the sub dish? if so you may have a problem especially if there is a sw in the lnb assembly. Most DN sw's don't work on FTA. Do you have an aftermarket sw? Give me some more info and I will try to help you get it up.. Iam in Pac Time zone and it is 4:30 and I will check back about 8 or 9 my time so post your setup and we will try to get you up. You could PM me or leave another post. The Post might get someone's attention before I get back. Take your pick

No sw being used. I tried it at first, didn't work. Then I removed it, still didn't work. I even ran a straight thru, ie, from lnb to receiver. Still can't download channels. I can't even get signal strengthon the ultra, but I can perfect signal on my sub.

Is it a legacy twin? The switch in those can't be removed(usefully) and they can't b used for fta.
DVB is similar and I had to get a Dishpro twin lnb in place of my old legacy twin.

You would use the diseqc switch in place of the sw-21.....
119 to input 1 and 110 to input 2 of the diseqc switch...

You would setup each lnb freq, and lnb setting to use the switch....

Lnb freq 11250
Lnb on
Lnb type single
lnb diseqc switch 119 set to 1, 110 set to 2
lnb 22khz tone 0ff

not a legacy twin being used. i also tried the other option w/o any luck. What amazes me is that the sub works great but I can't get a signal on the fortec. maybe I'm using the wrong file (272t). Well, I'll check it out later again. Back to duty (military stuff)

If you can use the DP twin How do you set it up? I have a pansat 3500s.
and a friend has a microyal 900 converted to a 1200 and we cant figuer out how to set up the twins. The singles and discq work fine but would like to us on another dish for another bird with a discqu switch or maybe just a ab switch. Can any one tell me how the legacy and dp switches work? what is the 22kc on and off used for? ect.

I have a legacy dual LNB, and I'm using a fortec, I'm also able to get all of the channels. I went in the setup menu and turned the LNB's off, and I'm up and running. If I was not so lazy I would get up on the roof and convert the LNB to single lnb's with out the switch inside and use the diseq. Please note, it does take a second or two to aquire the right bird (119 or 110)...
