Explained why the EGP doesn't work!!

I have figured out why it sucks and still ask the question why it can’t be fixed. I own a 3500s so some of this my not match up exactly to a 2500. Basically, then you hit the EPG button it brings up 4 channels with none or half as$ed info and that great 24hr clock I also hate. Well the problems isn't missing TID's or NID's yea you need those but it's the fact it's flawed by the author of the firmware you have on the box. The secret is the EPG will work, but you have to sort by transponder and the four channels your viewing must be on the same transponder or you're going to have a blank spot.

Why does it do that well because the author of the program either just didn't think about it or didn't have the space in memory, which I believe neither case. I'd like to think that a 2700s/3500s IRD can handle downloading the info and storing it in the 2mb of memory they have. Even if it was just 24 hours worth of guide would be better way better than 0 seconds of guild we currently have. A real DN IRD like a 301 has 2mb of memory much slower CPU and it can do 72 hours worth of guide.

Now, if I lived in Korea maybe this would be acceptable as is but, I don't I'm an American and we demand better here. I've done my part hopefully with this info authors of all the FTA's will have fully functioning EPG's again like the good old days and better.

my initial post is over at feedback if you want to read that one too. It may help the people that do nothing for this sport but want to tell me how wrong I am for wanting that I paid someone to do for me.

Who did you pay to get the EPG? I bought a FTA Receiver(Free To Air)
Everything else is a bonus. Appreciate what we get or Fix it yourself. You could get a Dreambox since I read it gets the full EPG, but you probably know that already! O they cost allot more.

The deal is I bought pansat's because they where advertised as having a EPG. Go look at their site and look whats listed as the first feature. Now, i'm not going to go around and around we people like I have on other forums. A Pansat is a "waterpipe" when we all know it's a bong. It's not a bonus it's in the ad!

I also bought a fta receiver (of course I bought if for the _____ing channels, don;'t be a smart ass. I would also like for the guide to work.

You guys are too intence.... I would love a EPG like Charlie has but guess what, my old pansat 2500a does it halfass but I don't care as long as the TV works. Relax its only TV

Second, I'm happy with my freeTV but I'm allowed to wish that I can get my EPG working and I'm sure you would enjoy that feature too. 2 cents...

He's trying to say that Charlie hasn't switched to the more powerful N2 encryption and when/if they do,FTA boxes won't be able to handle it.

Guide still works fine on a nag1 dn box.

I just hooked up a DN2700 with a rom3 to my pip input.

Call up pip check the guide then switch the 2700A to the program I want.

Want to check for the next show while still watching. Something you can only do
with high end DN receivers. NP just call up the pip.

Poor EPG is just a fact of life on these receivers. Knew it after reading up on them myself before I even bought it. But I was willing to give up the guide for the inexpensive price. Several higher priced units have guides that work great.

Just saying your right it sucks that the guide works poorly. But if you did your homework before buying you would have know this and not bought one. Or decided like me the 100+ savings was worth doing without a decent guide.

If the FTA processor is at least 100mhz, it is supposed to be able to calc the 768 bit algorithm.
