That receiver uses the Pansat 3500 files . This is a new receiver from the same engineers as Coolsat . I think we're gonna hear alot more from this one.

I have not seen anything on any of the major fta fourms about support files for the Orasat. I would stay far away from this puppy until you see some reviews....

Main System:
Main Processor : STi5518
Memory : SDRAM 8MB
Flash 2MB

Pretty weak on the main system for the price they want for these...

Here are the same specs for the Coolsat 4000 , probably the most popular receiver on the market . Same processor , memory and flash . Does that make the Coolsat "weak" ,too ?

Main System
Main Processor:STi5518

Memory
Flash-ROM: 2MB SDRAM: 8MB EEPROM

The Orasat has a card reader for the same price ( within a few bucks ) as the Coolsat model without the card reader. I have no personal stake here as I personally chose the Viewsat when I bought . Just trying to present a clear picture .

Coolsat has a card reader, i had 2, i paid $150 couple of months ago. Now they $250. I sold the coolsat's on ebay and got a viewsat, paid $180 now they $225...IMHO coolsat is the at the bottom on video quality, with viewsat being a little better. Picked up a Spacestar for $160 and it blows away both coolsat and viewsat with much better video, and it should with a 250mhz processor.....

So yes i would say that any receiver with the STi5518/ 81mhz processor selling for more than $149 is a poor choice....

If there is no stand alone support for N2 files then it's worth nothing, except for true fta....

Orasat may be made by Kaon, there being imported by Broadtec LLC thats make them a big question mark right there....
