View Full Version : need help setting up dp500 and twinhan102g

hey guys,

here's my setup:
amd64 3400+
nvidia 6600GT
1gig ram
twinhan 102g

installed MT 3.26 and using the plugins found in the file section and extracted to the /path/mytheatre/plugins folder.

dp500 with 2 dual lnb (to get both 110&119)
have the elvation at 27 and skew at 86ish and its point se/s

and i have a signal finder device...which i use to hook one of the 119 cable to to the signal finder and to a 3100ird (bev) just so i know if i'm getting some sort of signal.
and the other cable to 119 (both the cables from 110 is not attached to anything)
manage to get 6.5/10...went a head and scan...got 220 channels, got ppv and others. turned off power to the pc and the 119 cable with 110...got nothing :(
plug 119 back in and got 220channels back...now the wierd part, if i unplug the 3100, while the other 119cable is plugged into the pc...i can't watch anything and the 2meter in MT is at 0 & 0 and can't watch anything...if i plug the 3100 back in..then i could watch it...

any advice or suggestions?

Do a quick search for 102g and DP. There are a lot of different ways to set it up to work.

seems like the lnb isn't receiving power when i just have it hook up directly to the dvb card. what are my alternatives for supplying it with power? or is it not required and i'm just completely off here?

also...i just tried hooking up my BEV dish hook up directly to the dvb card no ird in between and it scans fine...

and if possible can someone point me to any sites with info?

Maybe you don't have the settings correct.

Is it two separate LNBs or is a whole unit meaning that they are combined but have two eyes?

2 eyes, each with 2 connections. also i have imported the ini for the dp500 (maybe i have the wrong one?) i found it on this forumn via search

110 LNB to Diseqc port 1. Set as committed LNB1. Lof 1 1125 SW 0 Lof 2 1125
119 LNB to Diseqc port 2. Set as committed LNB2. Lof 1 1125 SW 0 Lof 2 1125

Select a sat and scan all.

If you have single LNBs then you don't need the DP .ini files. Reinstall MT and start from scratch.

tried the above and it still doesn't work :(
i using 2 dual lnb btw.

i can get it to work if i do this:
119lnb one wire to the twinhan card 1 wire to the bev ird
and it will pick up 119...same thing for 110, it work as long as i have an ird plugged in to supply power to the 2 lnb :( but doesn't the card supply power to the lnb? what's wierd is that i plug in my existing bev dish directly to the dvb card and it work just fine...no need to hook up an ird to supply the power.

any ideas?
