Was hoping I could stick with my existing equipment to use a DVB card. Is anyone here using a legacy Twin LNB? If so, any external switches being used? Thanks.

Yes. Using a radio shack part #15-1258 inline 6db attenuator $4.99 25' from cpu and a 4x disque switch 4' from lnbs and 200' cable run from cpu to lnbs only place to get a break in the trees here. The forums in mytheater are very helpful I belive the attenuator came from one of the post here. switch settings I beleive are 12700000 and 122000000. About 600 channels.

If it is the one piece lnb it has the switch already in it and will work with any dishnet receiver model

legacy twin and quads will work but with problems. your channels will sometimes work and somtimes not. they have a problem with the switch that is built in and tryies to run both singles as one. i tried to get it to work but i was unable to get it to work right.

you will have to get a pro or old singles that would use a sw21.

Interesting, that's why I asked the question - I also read that the Legacy Twins can't be used, but some people say they can be. Anybody else using them? Maybe I'll give it a shot.

I used it for two weeks, but I could not get all the channels, I think I went through about 75-80 channels that worked including premium channels, PPV, and porn, but some were freezing when I changed the some channels. I had a twin lnb with no extra switches.... ordered a DP-twin for $20.00 from fleabay, changed the transponders-alignment in MT and all the channels were locked in place, no freezing. If you can get it to work with RitzDVB or some other DVB program without the freezing due to the lnb been a legacy go for it, and there is also a DVB app in linux that will let you use it even though you are using legacy and you will be fine, however, I would not recommend it if you are not too familiar with Linux.

I used 'commited' for both satellites and the transponders as (LOF1=0, SW=0, and LOF2=11250000 ) read the sticky by SJ http://www.dssftp.com/forum/t48742-new-my-theater-set-up-instructions-and-programs.html
. That is what I did for the Dishpro( don't forget to delete the transponder list and import the verticals for both satellites), when I used the legacy before the dishpro, I used simple on the first and commited for the 2nd.
The dishpro lnb has a built-in diseqc, so you don't need extra swithes unless you plan for more 'dishes/receivers'

Using twinhan 102g DVB card with legacy lnb (1) pointed at 119 with MT and works flawlessly.
Get all channels and the channels change and come in very quickly. Was using DVB dream but channels lagged and sometimes would not come in.

There ar 2 (TWO) distinctly different models of legacy twin.. One (the more popular model) has a built in sw21 switch and will not work with most fta ird's.. There are a couple of ird's it will work with to some extent, but not the way it really should.. There is also a twin legacy that DOES NOT have a built in switch of any kind. It will work along with a diseqc switch with fta..
