I am trying to get 5.1 Dolby Digital to work with My Theatre.

I have a soundblaster live 5.1 card in my Dell with a Twinhan sat card. In the soundblaster software there is a place where I can tell it I want digital out which I have done. My stereo receiver recognizes the signal as Digital and plays everything in ProLogic. I must admit even in ProLogic with the digital signal it makes a world of difference—it sounds so much better then analog. However, I want to take it to the next level of Dolby Digital—spent all that money on audio equipment I want to be able to utilize it. I realize that we can get Dolby Digital only on a few PPV channels as well as some of the movie channels. I ran a 4900 receiver for several years and am fully aware of what will and will not come in as Dolby Digital.

I am guessing it is some type of Decoder/Codec issue. For video I am running the Nvidia decoder as that is the video card I am running and it keeps me from having freezing. As for the Audio Decoder I have tried Cyberlink, Nvidia, Intervideo and nothing will get my receiver to kick over from pro logic to Dolby Digital.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this? Has anyone had success of getting things to run in Dolby Digital? What to do?

spdif passthru in the audio codec? you did it in the soundblaster dealie, now do it for the audio codec that is currently beeing used for MyTheatre! If not allready, in mt prefs, volume/audio tab, have "switch to AC3 track if audio PID set to auto" ticked nice.

From various posts I have read Soundblaster Live has issues with spdif out and dvbapps. This has been confirmed by many people and I have not heard of a fix.

It seems it is just the Live board that has these issues.

Sorry.
