ive had it with 1022a. nothing but problems . it works for a while then it just quits. i can usually get it going again by dumping my theatre and vision plus software, then, reinstalling everything all over again. do they actually test this crap before they sell it. if they do then there standards are pretty fucking low. even when i did have it working i couldnt lock on all or most transponders consistently. in my humble opinion these cards aren't worth the plastic that they are built on. ive spent too many hours trying to make it work just too realize that it aint gona happen. i believe that i had all components in place and gathered all info required, thanks to this forum, that there is no good reason,other than bad hardware, that it shouldnt work properly. i hope that anyone in the market for dvb cards reads this. DO NOT BUY TWINHAN 1022A. i would really appreciate some opinions on the best dvb cards to buy. thanks in advance.

i dont test these but i know you have to have a fast cpu in order for these to run smoothly....you aware of this?

post what your running and see what others have to comment about this

if memory serves me right..im thinking 1 gig and 256 ram minimum???

Yes i am having the same problems i thought it was just me i am running xp pro stripped down with a p4 2.4 with 1 gig ram! damn junk i think i am just gonna wait and see what pans out damn prog dvb just keeps crashing! oh well i guess thats why i love this hobbby! looks like back to ebay to look for a haupage! woohoooo

I have a 1022a running in a P4 2.8 ghz with 512 mb ram, runs great, and a 1020a running in a Celeron 2.0 ghz with 512mb ram, allso runs great, have had no serious problems with either card. I think trying to run the 1022a in anything short of 2.4 ghz might be an issue, It runs just fine in my 2.8

I have the cheapest card made..a good old Kworld thing ..LoL...watchin TV as I type...this isnt something to get into ..if you think your gonna get your card ...slap it in your PC..and watch free TV..it take's time ..tunning ..trying diff thing's....ect ...I love it..prob spent 250 hour's working with it...I now write *how to*'s to get the unit's running.......

go and get this D\L and install and run it ..post what it tell's you ....it will tell you all about your PC..LoL...speed..ram..ect.....

thanks N1B4M. when i bought my card i gave computer info to my card dealer and he said should be fine. i think possibbly he was full of BS or not very well educated on these cards. maybe should have done my own research before hand. if i had i probably would have gone with the 1020 at least . ive heard alot of headaches with the 1022a but it sounds like your doing the right things and probably have a good card. it may be worth upgrading my pc and trying again.

spend some money and get a nexus-s ...they are the king of card's..has the meg2decoder built into it ....requires a pent II...ya pent II.....a caculator will run it..LoL..it also has the TV and audio out-put's... cheap at dvbmaster ..well not cheap ..but you get what you pay for...Plus the only card that you will be able to use the remote ...guild on screen ....ect...

theres alot of good info out there but theres also misinfo as well . the dealer that i bought my card from said that my pc met the requirements. great! ive spent many hours reading trying different things for the last few months. yes it is a hobby and it is interesting but never did i think that id slap my card in and expect it to work like magic. it does help to have good info though. ill take criticism good or bad as long as it helps

it could be as simple as his card is not inserted perfectly and is causing problems
been there and worked thru it
he should be able to run it fine ... possible the card is bad but probably his windows is the problem

i ran on a dual p3 550 with 384 meg of ram and 4 meg video card fine
just to give u an idea
u should have atleast 512 of ram b4 running XP without doin dvb
otherwise u will get performance issues just running
how long on average does it run b4 dying ... what version of MT and is it freeversion regged or cracked?

The Twinhan 1022a is a problem card, there is a resistor in the upper right corner of te board which overheats. I had one of these cards and it failed exactly as you describe 2 days after i got it.

What happens is this resistor overheats and disconnects, causing the intermittent signal loss.

ime runningmt 3.31 cracked. ican run it all night with no problems, then, fire it up the next day and get nuthin. thats usually how it works. when i have it running it doesnt shut down on me

sounds like your windows has issues and the problems lie within your software not hardware if u can run it fine and it owrks till u shutdown and try again
is windows poppin up new hardware windows or any kind of errors or does mt just say there is no dvb card and if so did u check device manager at that point to see if the hardware is still regged in the system adn is running with the drivers

Make sure you don't have a lot of other things running on your computer when using it. I have a 1020A that is in a P4 1.6 with 1 gig of memory. When I use my card it eats up about 90% of my cpu.

i dont get error messages for the most part not to say i havent but nothing like what you described. once in a while when i go to use mt everything comes up fine but i get no sound or picture. sometimes all i have to do is rescan, but when that fails i have to uninstall everything and reinstall.i try everything else before i do this though

Also, I have heard of mixed results from people using the cracked version of 3.31. Have you tried using the cracked version of 3.26? That is the version that most people seem to have the best results with.

i do know sumone with a 1022a that had to hookup a dn receiver on other side of lmb to get dvb working it said no signal til he hooked that up then it worked fine

It would definitely help. They say that 300 or so watts is what should be used for a power supply. I would try the cracked version of 3.26 first. I believe that it is in the torrent section. I tried a cracked version of 3.27 but ended up getting the "cool warez" thing.

3.27 crack does not work. Either thye are corrupt or warez. 3.26 works best, havn't tried 3.31. You don't need to install the vision software, biggest junk ever. You just need the drivers for the card.

Also I'm not sure what the problem is. You say it runs and then quits. Does it disapear from the device manager? Does MT not start? What type of video card do you have?

Have any of you burned dvd's after recording a movie or other stuff. I can help with that. I just found out how to capture AC3 audio I'm using 1020A. AC3 is DolbyDigital just incase u didn't know. This is only for channels that have DD.

no it doesnt quit while im running mt. ill shut it down then go to use it the next evening mt will open ,but, when i select channels ill get no picture or sound. sometimes when i rescan everything comes back . if im lucky. this doesnt happen everytime i go to use mt but on average once a week. i have vision plus 2.42a. when mt is running cpu is at about 70% and physical mem usage is about 40%

no i dont have anti virus or anything else on a timer. something sukh77 said about not installing vision software just the drivers is interesting though. if i uninstall vision and reinstall drivers without software then it should still work?? does the vision plus software cause problems with mt ? something i forgot to mention in my last quote is that when mt goes down i lose all signal strength and quality, but i know for sure that isnt the case.

that's almost normal,,,you will find that the cheap card's need lot's of PC rebooting..LoL..trust me..I have the cheapest ...I would strongly suggest that if you don't have M\T 3.31...you run and get it...It blow's 3.26 out of the water..!!!!!!!!...It's so easy to set up...you can be watching TV in 20 min's...take's 10 to install it..and 5 min's to scan 110 +++ 5 min's scan 119...LoL.....

If you need help setting it up ..PM me and I'll send you to a read me file that I wrote..with all file's in it....

im running 3.31 right now. it was pretty easy to set up and seems to work just fine. i was going to try 3.26 but ill take your word for it and stick with 3.31. i still have problems scanning in some of the H transponders . i have a sat cable booster running but the same tps stil show no signal. on most other tps i get 80 - 90 strength and quality. thanks

I usually scan V TP's not the H's. I haven't tried 3.31 so can't say how much it blows 3.26.

ok . i guess i should have said twinhan almost out the window. ive been given some renewed hope from members of this forum, although , i think in the near future ill pay a few extra bucks and get a better dvb card. ive made some adjustments according to comments made by site members that i hope will help to prevent mt from shutting down. im still a little confused about what tp list to use because the legacy list by#40 fan posted earlier for legacy lnb has V tps and H tps, but , according to sukh77 he only scans V tps. i realize that sukh77 tplist is for dishpro and the frequencies are higher than the 12661 range of my dtv lnbs. when i scan only the v tps i get maybe 150 channels on 110. as i said earlier i dont think that signal strength is an issue. something satan said earlier about uploading both legacy and dishpro tps list isnt clear to me. i went to satreactor and found only the dp tplist. can anyone help clear this up for me. thanks

from what i understand there is a big difference between 1020 and 1022a. if you had a1022a spanky youd probable realize that. anyways thanks for input matisse i checked system info i have 1.108 mhz cpu and 261ram. according to your info this is marginal but im not sure if that may be the problem . anymore input muchly appreciated.

Your computer is way too slow to be using this card. I had issues on a p4 1.4ghz with 768mb of ram. It worked but was always a bit choppy.. I put the card in my athlon 3400 machine and am rocking.

ok. maybe ill get an award for most stupid questions asked in a single thread ,but someone has to do it why not me . i think it may help others as well. im comparing tp lists for legacy and dishpro. on dishpro tps higher than 12661 are useless to me (dtv lnb)and then eliminating alll H tps on the legacy leaves me with virtually the same tps on both lists?

No, the DP lists are altered legacy lists. You should just use the legacy list with the DTV lnbs.

ok. in my earlier posts i was pretty clear that i was using dtv lnbs. sukh77 said that he just scans the vertical tps and stated that by scanning both v tps and h tps iwould get duplicate channels, which is the case . then im told to combine the two lists in earlier posts . maybe theres no way around getting duplicate channels i dont know. should i just scan with the legacy tp list and delete duplicates, or is there another solution. thank you

A DP 500 setup is the best to have. You only need to run one cable straight from the dish to the PC, no switches involved at all.

thanks #40 FAN. I realize that i shouldnt be getting all tps, but im still missing A&E, Court tv, Cnn, Ten plus several more . i think the switch causes some problems as well. it may be simpler to get the DP500 than having to deal with the 4x1sw and two seperate dishes

If you have the optoin of running two seperate co-axe line's to you DVBS card...than hook one to the 110 LNB...and one to the 119 bird......now make two folder's on your desktop..call one ..ummmm M\T 110....and the other ..ummm.M\T 119........than just install the M\T3.31 into each ..one at a time....when you get one done...whatevre one you did....drag and drop the shorthcut into the file that it belong's in ...and install M\T 3.31 into the other folder..and drag and drop the shortcut on top of that folder...now you have two seperate folder's..with two M\T's.

K..now on the 119 M\T ....do a scan of the 241 bird...even import the 241 or 240 tps into it...and your set to go on the 119 bird....do the same with the 110 M\T..and scan the 250 bird.....LoL..it's pretty simple if you want it to work ..it will ..I mean you can throw in a pair of 26X32 switch's ..and a few booster's..and ..lalalalallalla...or you can keep it simple..and watch TV..LoL...

ill have to give that some thought. it does seem pretty simple. a little bit of work though. i am having an issue with getting the same channels on both 110 and 119. i dont think the switch is quite doing what it supposed to. that could help. in case anyones interested i found S2EMU v4.0.0.1 zip on koreanf2a. supposedly eliminates freezing and quicker channel changing. ive installed it and it does work.

earlier i was told that 1.4GHZcpu and 261ram is not enough to run these dvb cards and i thought well ok ill have to upgrade my pc then. just now i ran the task manager while mt was running to see where im at cpu 50-60% and physical memory40%. it seems to me that im not even close to the limit of either.

I'm running a1020A right now (i know different card...but requires similar resources) on a p4 1.6, with 512 Ram, and a GeForce 128MB 6600 OC...while running MT3.26, I was having tons of issues relating to processor speed (typically showed around 60 - 70 %)...I have now installed a legacy version...3.12 and have not had a single issue since...If Issues persist, I would maybe give MT 3.12 a whirl (its using about 5 - 10 % cpu now, and might save you an upgrade)

cause saar might be able to compare the "engines" and see if he can make 3.33 run lower on the cpu
maybe he just needs to optimize it a little to drop us down

tomorrow nites session will involve testing diffferent versions i might just go backwards for the performane
then i can run full out on quake 4 and have tv still for my daughter

I'll chime in a bit...

For those of you who have limited computer resources please(I repeat Please) download Server 2003! I guess this would go for everyone lol... The only catch is if it is not a cracked version is reinstalling every 60 days, this can be stream lined to about a 45 minute process
which I have done serval times (it isnt that bad since I have registry files to reattach all my programs to the O/S after the install. O/S on one drive Programs etc... on another drive)

This will help with a lot of your O/S overhead and give you the most out of your computer...
You should be able to find this in the usual places(torrents or on limwire p2p networks etc...) Don't use 98 or 2000( or even xp) this will just hurt you in this conquest... I have a lot of experience with this O/S and is by far one of the best ever released (hell you can even run some webpages DB's and remote desktop <- this owns by the way more on this later)

If you can't find it I will send you an ISO of server2k3(no key though as I can't give that) over irc #regiment on gamesurge same nick just pm me there... If there is enough demand we can start a torrent for those of us who will need it

Right now I am running a 1.3 athlon( due to motherboard it is running at 850) with 1gig of ram on 2k3 with a kworld and have everything almost running 100% with MT 3.32 There is some choppyness but that is due to my limited computer resources.

I can't comment too much on which version of MT to use since I am sort of stuck with 3.32 as it seems to be the only thing that likes using my DP hardware with the Kworld card (just to put in my 2 cents it isnt the best card but I believe it's issues are due to drivers and software support: From my readings it appears that essentially all DVB cards are very close you need a Front end - this is the section that deals with tunning and grabbing the TS, a Demux - convert TS to PS and various other activities inlcuding sound not just video, a capture device - simply put what you watch. The problems come from how the software uses this hardware, the drivers, with some cards having much better support from both the driver and software end of things.) From what I have noticed 3.26 and 3.27 did run slighty better then 3.32 but then again I had to switch sats manually so I'd rather have to deal with software then changing cables...

P.S more on server2k3: if you have remote desktop setup and log into the computer from there, you can esstianally bypass the activation. As long as that remote user is logged on you can control the computer through that user without it complaining about needing to activate. of course if the power goes out your pretty much screwed lol (I had this happen by the way but SQL server owns and saved my butt haha)

Sound like your puter is fine.

Been wading through this post trying to make heads or tails out of your problem(s).

Disconnect your switch. Hook your card up to lnb for 110 and scan. Then hook up to 119 and scan. Then put your switch back in place. You sound be using normal ini files (both H & V frequencies). This should eliminate your duplicates.

i have done that, however, i still get duplicates . when i use the legacy tp list, but, only scan the v tps i get very few duplicates. when i scan v tps and htps i get almost all duplicates. id say that i really get the same number of channels either way,but, less the duplicates by only scanning vtps only. thanks swifty

I'd just throw the switch as far as I could..and keep it simple..I'v read 50 post's tonite..same thing ..over and over...can't scan ...can't get both sat's...ect...even saw a dude today that has three dish's hooked to 4 switch's ...and shareing it with a bud...and trying to get a second IRD going (in his house)....so that's 3 ..with the bud.......talk about wild..LoL..He dosn't want to spend any $$ on an extra co-axe in ....???...Nice pic in his post///LoL.....

A DP 500 setup is the best to have. You only need to run one cable straight from the dish to the PC, no switches involved at all.

I agree. Try and get a Dish 500 dish with the DPro twin lnb. No hassles at all once I found a good Tp file.

Hey gang...

I had the same problem. I could not get my disiqc switch to work properly on Twinhan 102g for the past few weeks.
I finnally tried using another LNB that I got from a friend... legacy Dishnet LNB, and swapped out the working LNB that my setup was getting stuck on... ( The sat that you could not switch from) In my case 110.

Once I hooked up that different LNB...all good... switch between 119 and 110 no problemo!!!

I was using a dishnet and an aftermarket LNB together... Twinhan did not seem to like that setup...

Use two identical type of LNB's!!!

I also have the 102G card and had huge problems with my Switch. I had it hooked up this way to start:

Port 1 119
Port 2 110
Port 3 91
Port 4 Nothing

All are using Dish Legacy LNB's, using this setup caused incorrect switching and scans failing to pickup channels. So I made the following change:

Port 1 Nothing
Port 2 119
Port 3 110
Port 4 91

Doing this solved all my problems. I can now switch between sats without an issue. The BEV channels all scanned in correctly and I could watch the BEV free channels. For what ever reason placing the LNB's out of order solved my problems, not sure why. It may be a switch issue, so I purchased another but never got around to test it. So if you have switch issue's change the order up and see if it helps.

PS. I am using about 200 Feet of cable for this run.

yeah i do think that more components(switches, lnbs, cable,etc) more problems. in the end it may be easier to to troubleshoot as well. i want to also eliminate my power inserter(booster). i think that it as well is causing some problems. id have to look at my pc specs cuz im not sure what my power supply is , but , if i were to increase to lets say 350- 400w would that source enough power to the lnbs so that ican deep six the booster. yes i think the dish 500 makes a lot of sense . i have tried reversing the order of sats on the dis swich, but in my case it didnt help. thanks
