i just bought a couple n2 cards from ebay. i know (from reading here) that it is safe to put them in nagraedit to find out the rom and revision. but what about if it is a virgin card? is there any side effects or safe to do so? the cards look like it has no markings on the gold plated area.

(experienced tester, but still a newbie)
thx

Use trex nagra this will they u if they were virgin cards or from what receiver number it came from. The way u do this go on tab and hit get info. If if tells you all 0's for the receiver then it is a virgin card.

ok, the card reads:

provider: 01 01
cam id: aa bb cc dd
ird#: dd cc cc aa
zip code: 11 22 33 44
time zone: 00
boxkey: 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88
blackout string: 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88 99 aa bb

so, you think it is a virgin?

looks like you're just getting garbage back from t-rex. never used it myself, but the cam id should at least match what's on the back of the card, unless you changed it for your post which is a good idea??

i don't want to put the car in an ird unless if absolutely necessary. since h2 testing is still in it's infant stage. i don't want a virgin card married to any receiver.

the ird# should be: dd cc bb aa

alright fellas. i just used cyber dbs nagra 2 tools to read it. it is a rom 102 rev 105. it is indeed a virgin card. cam id matches the card. ird # is r000000...provider is unknown. last stream 1992-01-01.

this has to been a virgin card. now my question is...is a n2 virgin card good or bad? even when i was in blue plastic rom testing before, i never had to deal with activation.
