Need some help guys I can not get my 2800 to take new software. On channel 101, ran switch check, turned off. 2 days nothing tried card in and out nothing....yes it is set to without permission. Stuck on 797........... about six months ago I tried erasing sa5 and streaming still nothing had to write tsop manually. No lock installed on this unit. Am I missing anything ?? Build is COAD looked in the bank no COAD with 834 software, just 830 .....

This is how I got my 2800 to update I programmed a Rom 3 with the IRD# and Boxkeys put
it in the stream did check switch test OK then went to the download permission part it was
already set to download without my permission so I changed it to NOT download and clicked on
SAVE then I change it back to download without my permission and clicked on SAVE again.
TURN it off with THE REMOTE and lefted it pluged in it updated in less than 10 mins did the same for my 4900,3800 with the same results.

I had an old fw with a 2700 no problem, but an old fw with a 4700 did' take.
The problem is: sometimes fw that is too many versions behind won't take.
Erasing won't help.
The only answer is to check the TSOP bank for the most current fw of your ird's build config. Take that and change your build, then let the stream update
that build to the current fw.
That will do it. Then recontribute then new fw version build back to then tsop bank. Then edit in your box keys & ird #.
