How do I tell if I have a GT chip or not in a refurbished 501 I just bought?

Take the cover off and look. There's two pretty good sized chips in there that will either have DT or GT on them; also could have one of each.

I found two chips alike they have DT at the end of a row of (AM29DL323DT) is this the # and if this is the # does it have to be VID MOD ?

Sounds like you found the right ones and if both are DT you're good to go...No VID MOD necessary. Congratulations
