How do you "wall" a reciever so you can jtag it? Looks like my boot sector is down as well.

"Wall" is a program you have to use AFTER you put in place the JTag doongle. I do not remember your original problem, but try doing a factory reset or try uploading (again) the factory bin and the working bin if after that you have to JTag, look for the procedure in the older posts (but, I guess you know that already)!!! By the way, instead of Wall, try tu use SkyMax!!!

Jtag can identify the ST5518, but the receiver shows no power on indication. Jtag comes back and says "DCU peek fail" and does not identify the m29w160et flash. I don't know what the procedure is from here on. How do I get Jtag to see the flash chip. All grounds are good and I have used 3 different jtag cables so far and they all get the same result. (megasat pro receiver)

I read somewhere that if something like that ocurrs, the receiver is DEAD??? But, I guess you are using Wall, did you try using SkyMax??? Or maybe the solder points for that receiver are different...???

Skymax didn't work either. Same error. I pinned out the actual jtag designations on the 5518 chip so I know the solder points are correct. Jtag is just not talking to the flash. The boot sector must be corrupt some how.

Does Wall give you the Flash base address? The Length Hex......?

Use Wall, erase, erase, erase....

Select the bin, then adjust the Length Hex to 60000, write this.....

Turn receiver off, then turn back on, if lights or display flashes on/off then the boot loader is working....

Now use Jkeys and and see if you can write the complete bin....

We told you before, WALL is the PROGRAM you will have to use to write a clean DUMP into your receiver TSOP.

Look for it in your next favorite site!!! But, I noticed that you keep posting in another thread where you said "had to JTag"??? What are you trying to do??? Or finding out???

I jtagged my Megasat and it works now. I used mingo files. I still see others talk about the wall file. Would like to check it out as an alternative to jtag.

Wall is a program to use on screwed up dishnet and bellexpress 3100/301 series recievers mostly , Not FTA stuff. It is for being able to access the TSOP flash memory to reload them after LSI control has be lost. Jkeys can also do it in slow mode which I find more reliable although sometimes the Jkeys definition file needs to be edited. It's been covered here alot
