Actually I was using DVD Shrink and DVD decrypter ! Kept getting i/o errors, read errors. I have now downloaded Microsoft's new Beta Antispyware which is supposed to detect it and it found nothing so I don't know w.t.f. Gonna try and ruin another disk lol.

Make sure that you update the MS Spyware tool. Click on File, Update.

Use dvddecrypter first in files mode, then run the files through dvdshrink to delete the extra shit you don't want and reduce the size.

I have never had any problems with Sony disks,

dvddecrypter version 3.5.4.0

dvdshrink version 3.2.0.15

P. S. you may have a bad disk too

I have run across bad FACTORY disks that gave errors,
I went to a different store with another batch and that disk ripped fine.

Sony is hidding software in Root kits. Sony should be sued millions for this. 2 wrongs don't make a right, and installing software without disclosing what they are doing is just plain illegal. I think Sony has gone to far this time.

HA HA HA wait until you buy "longhorn" Microsofts replacement for XP, it has snitch programs in it that refuse to run and report stolen software, not just M$ software either.

Well I don't know, it does not show in my regedit, the patch says I don't have it and I just did a good rip so it's a mystery. 2 different movies, 2 different disks same errors but now seems to have resolved. The bewitched movie however does have it's own player built in so I ain't going there, read about that somewhere. And no I am not smokin' like the avatar shows lol.
And that'll be the day I put that O.S. S.O.B. on my pc..

I never look at the movies until after I have processed them and burned my own copy, the install they want you to do to watch the movie is all advertisment.

Use power dvd to watch the final dvd shrink disk.

You probably don't have anything on your computer, and with all the medication you take you don't need to smoke to have a buzz, they won't give me any GOOD SHIT. Just crap pills.

Microsoft is one to talk. They built their empire on on piracy. Now themself will try to curve it. It MS attempts to put spy ware in their next release, and it is found look out. Have you looked at purchasing a copy of Windows 2000 Professional? It costs $400 Canadian. If sold it for $50-100 maybe they could make a lot more money. The only real way to curve piracy is to sell it at reasonable prices. That way the time it takes for a user to D/L, and burn a copy. They could have gone to a store and purchased it for half the cost.

The above app download should come up on a google. Doesn't appear to have been viewed more than once. What I do is turn my cable modem off when I'm ripping or burning movies to prevent any communication in or out of my pc. There are registry keys added to your puter when you view or rip a movie, and they either communicate or act as markers on your puter. This is not acceptable so I run my entire pc in virtual mode where nothing is committed to hard drive.

1-Turn off cable modem
2-Watch, rip, burn movie
3-Reboot puter and poof, no registry keys, nothing left behind.
4-Turn on cable modem and go about your business.

I re-mention it here so that you have another weapon against the likes of bony and these shithead rootkit infections.

I use AnyDVD & CloneDVD..Works awesome..!
The quality video is way better then what DVD Shrink gives you..
If you choose Movie Only option The compression is even better..

The root shit is just on music CD's NOT DVD's

Cimba you don't have it unless you did music

However they have added something to try to prevent coping movies

If you have problems with decrypter and shrink in Sony or columbia disks

use dvddecryter in files mode, then run it through vobblanker, then use dvdshriink as usual

Comes out just fine for me.

Also, doesn't that also mean that the cards will not be tested prior to shipping, unlike the original statement made by Mr. AVR-X.

Rented Bewitched today, never noticed Sony's name in small writing at bottom. Now can't rip/burn hear etc. in my proggies. Anyone know how to get rid of this ?

did the same thing here Cimba. tried to backup bewitched, errored out twice, so i gave up. then i tried to backup madagascar, same crap. errored out in both decrypter and shink. haven't tried anything since then, so i don't know if i can or not.

here it is again,

run dvddecrypter, run vobblanker,run dvdshrink, perfect copy
an extra 5 or 10 minutes is all. All automatic.

change .txt to .zip

SJ, I was just talking to a friend that had a problem backing up a DVD. Asked him to look in the processes and he found a SonyDRM.exe running. That is why I stated that it was effecting DVDs as well.

Last I heard when I found the fix for the DVD's for Cimba was that it was only on Music CD's

I did not have any problems,

I did magagascar and it ripped fine with dvddecrypter but gave a error in shrink until I ran it through vb blanker first.

looking for that sony file now

did 2 spy scans and a rgistry search plus a file search no sonydrm.exe on the computer I riped them on

I did Madagascar with Anydvd & Clonedvd..Wouldnt work in dvddecryptor or dvdshrink both errored out...Took me 2 days to get it working untill I found the anydvd..lol All this headache for a crappy movie Aint what its hyped up to be :D

The Anydvd is a awesome litte proggy you just start it up before puttin in the dvd & it detects & removes the shit before you even startup the dvd..

They have ben trying this new stuff on a movie here and there for 6 months.

It screwed up some programs but not others

decript/vobblank/shrink works fine too

There will be more done this way columbia is doing it too now.

DVD Decrypter isn't being updated anymore due to author got sued. AnyDVD is a good replacement and is being updated to counteract Sony's new copy protection scheme. I use AnyDVD with CloneDVD to make DVD9 ISO because I like to use the old version of Xcopy to split the dvd's to not loose quality. CloneDVD will also shrink to DVD5. AnyDVD is like a driver that sits between the drive and the program accessing the disk. Had to use it on BeWitched and Stealth so far.

If you look in Misc Utils you will find keygens for most of the products mentioned in this thread. DVD Shrink is free so just google it.

Have been loaded and should show up in the next day or so.

sony is using newer encryption, i used a proggy called DVDFab decrypter. I had to same problems when trying to rip Lords of Dogtown, but DVDFab worked for me.
