Official test for dickmonkey By smilingjack, Mod @ dssftp
I got the syndrome from dickmonkey to test. Thanks Steve.
Had some technical difficulties, un-related to the card so I apologize to DM for the delay.
The first thing I noticed was that you are not going to break this mother, it is not thin plastic, and it is metal.
Heavy, solid, BIG so big I had a hard time getting it into my new dual X-Tal ISO.
Fit in the 301.10 IRD fine, it needs to be wiggled sometimes if you get a 019.
TEST:
I J-Tagged my 301.10 IRD EAEA @ P-243 with a legacy dish 500 & SW21 last used with Magic and saved the original flash in a safe place then made a copy to modify for syndrome.
I installed the M$ NET framework programs that is required and opened syneditx.exe
I set the ISO to com1 and got the expected information.
I entered my usual numbers when requested and got another screen and followed the instructions that asked what to program, firmware, rom, EPROM
I left all three selected and clicked OK and it programmed all three.
Part of the process was to program the card and part was to create a patch for the TSOP. (223)
I used the patch program to modify flash 2 (223) of the TSOP with the created patch and installed it in the IRD with a J-Tag
I hooked it up to my dish 500 (legacy) and it displayed the searching for signal and then downloaded the guide and a picture with sound came on.
I have all the channels a 301.10 can hold wide open, MY Magic favorites was still in the EPROM and I got every one, The 100 to PPV, the PPV, sports channels, the porn channels, everything.
Channel surfing is the same as with Magic 3 and AVR-X 3 seconds from switch to picture & sound.
I tried pulling the card, pulling the plug and every time it came right back up.
It is getting more channels than I am with the 2800 / 4900 / AVR-X I am testing but that is in IRD’s with single 512 KB and 2 MB TSOP’s and is to be expected. So far I have seen no freeze framing and the guide is right there when you call it up. Of course I did not get much of that using Magic wide open either with magic due to the dual TSOP so a TRUE comparison will ONLY come when AVR-X gets the 301.10 going and I can run them side by side.
The iformation I put in is the same and with the syndrome system information reads DNASP 101 Rev009 so it is emulating the 101 card.
What may be a problem for some people who have the IRD out in the open is the card is so long the door will not close like the AVR-X door will and guests in the house will see the card.
I can honestly recommend both the cards as having good results
They are both cards as easy solutions compared with my next set of tests
Now I am off to try to get the other 301.10 going with Penga’s fix and compare that to the other methods.
