My old jtag has broken, it lasted quite a while
Just wondering if anyone has used the topside jtags from oddcircuits.
Apparently you solder in headers and leave them there for next jtag session, seems simple enough.
Are there any benefits besides ease?
Does it minimize errors?
Thanks

Yes, I always solder every reciever that I touched. Besides ease (try to hold the jtag for 4 minutes on a 6000 reciever), it also ensure proper connections. I bought myself a small soldering vacuum for about $10.00 and heat one by one of the point of connection and vacuum it. I then inserts those pin and solder them on the other side. Everytime I have to jtag, all i have to do is connect and walla...

Now that we're installing headers for the AVR-X, the topside jtag from oddcircuits will come in really handy. Just snap it on and go. Oddcircuits is a very reputable vendor.
