 I have been trying to make a 3700 work.. and nothing.. I am using the flash for the 2700-2800.. the receiver accepts the flash and eeprom I program my atmega and everything looks good... but when I plug the sat signal cable to the receiver.. I dont get a signal at all.. and it does not detects the sw21 switch..

I have tried several 2700-2800 flashes and nothing.. still the same.. I have look for a 3700 flash but no luck...

any suggestions?? do you think I can try another flash from another receiver for example 4700 or 4900??

any help will be appreciated. thanks.

I have run across the same problem on at least 6 IRDs in the last week. The cause is the TSOP data is incorrect. Once you correct the data it will find the signal with no problem. Here is how:

1. Find the 4 letter Build Config on the mainboard you are working with.

2. Read the original dump from the IRD to determine the bootstrap version

2. Open the rom 102 to rom10 bin you are going to use in FlashEdit2.0.a.2 and change the Build Config to the letters matching your mainboard letters. In the blue area of "build data" single click and you will see changes take place in the first 4 hex bytes shown there. This is important to do so the data is not corrupt.

3. Edit the four digits in the bootstrap shown to match those of your original IRD TSOP dump. Again important to do if you want the IRD to be able to acquire the satellite signal.

4. Click 'save as' without changing anything else save the 'personal dump'. Do not check the 'fix CRC' even if it is red instead of green.

5. Click 'save as' and save a virgin eeprom (bottom choice in drop down list). When asked for the build config of the IRD enter the four letters making sure you use uppercase letters since this entry is case sensitive. Close Flashedit.

6. The saved virgin eeprom will have FF FF where the password should be and as seen in a number of posts on various sites causes people to be locked out of the guide etc. To correct this problem ahead of time, open the virgin eeprom in WinHex and change row 1C0 columns 8 & 9 to look like 00 00 instead of FF FF and save the eeprom overwriting the virgin eeprom file you already have. This will make the password = 0000 for easy changing in the menu once up and running.

7. Write the TSOP and virgin eeprom you have created to the IRD and put it in the transport stream. You should now see the visual where the IRD locks on the default satellite and transponder instead of just randomly trying to lock on a transponder without ever acquiring the signal. If you want to check in the menu signal strength screen you will see you now have signal being shown.

This process has helped me correct the "not acquiring sat signal" problem on many IRDs and has yet to fail me. The procedure has worked on 2700/3700, 4700/4900, 301.010, 301.013 and 501.

You might want to try just writing a virgin eprom then doing switch check. Your using the right tsop image for your model. Double check builds are relatively close match.

Tried that many times. Check switch test just randomly wanders through the transponders because there is no signal being received to lock onto. With experimentation to develop the above procedure the process now seems to work great.
