revived my 301-013 - but.....

I successfully revived my 301-013 that I made a stupid mistake on when doing the vid mod the other night. I left the resistor out of the circuit (don't ask) when doing the zener diode method (hey, I had the parts - what can I say?) and the wire smoked when I turned it on to read the tsop and eprom.

Well, I used the 7812 voltage regulator method and it lives! I did succesfully save the original flash and eprom files after repaired my mistake.

Now on to another problem. The firmware is at P187, kind of old. When I run a check switch it never detects the SW21's I have on the system. The older firmware has a Dish 500 installation option, but that too fails. I ran a check switch with no cable attached to clear any old settings before trying the install procedure.

Does this old firmware have something to do with it? I have yet to check the voltage output at the cable connector. What's a proper voltage? If that's dead, is there a place to start looking on the board?

Tonight, I plan on trying my tsop file from my other 301-013. Should I edit it to use the original Box Keys and IRD # or just flash away?

If you are using a legacy with SW21 hok it direct to a LNB and see if it will let you check switch and set it to without permission then update, if not erase the ECM sector and try again.

I now have the 301-013 at P208. I flashed it with the identical flash from my other 301-013. It's a clone. It acquired the SW21 immediately and the signal is fine. I then programmed the AVRX card for P207 with V101 but kept getting 019 errors. So I let it update itself to P208 thru the stream while I reprogrammed the AVRX with V1.02. This has/is working fine in the other 301-013. When first plugged in, it got the error message that the card wasn't activated. After several reboots, I now I get 020 (Card not valid for this reciever.) :confused:

So, I'm making progress. Slow but that's testing. :D

I ama desperately trying to get the green light back on. I have treid many things and many have been real cool and tried to help me but I still cannot get the thing to light up. I have vid mod and can read, save and eraein jkeys 301-013c but no light.

I don't know anything about the rom10 fixes.

On the IRD, the last digit of the build shouldn't matter. Do you have the original build? Have you erased several times? Three is recommended, but I have erased as many as five times. Flash it with the original tsop file, or use a public tsop image and put your data in the file, don't forget the CRC check, build a virgin eprom file that matches it. Put in the original build code. Try to make it be as original as possible.

Are you using the R47 ground to program it? And is it disconnecting when you try the powerup?

Pepo I had the same thing happen and it was always a ground wire I had to disconnect. R47. I am far from a expert but sure get into a lot of trouble and alot of people here have helped
