Does any one know a way to be able to read and write to the tsop in a 2800 after writing a bad modded flash to it.I erased tsop after saving and tried to write a modded flash but now can't get in with keys.won't reconize receiver and have CPU peek error. Is there any program like Wall to beable to erase and write to this ird?

You have to erase and write as one (1) operation or they will do that, once you erase the TSOP they don't know WTF they are, they are brainless.

Get wall 2 and write to it with that, it is like J-Keys on steroids, it may take several tries to get it to work but don't give up.

I thought Wall was only for 301?

Interesting, I've seen Wall described as a "2700 killer" in some threads. I also have a dead 2700, was working fine when I put it to the closet when N1 went down. Must have messed up something when attemoting to jtag, now the green light won't come on. I just found this suggestion for reviving a 2700 with Wall, the author was also asked if he was sure it worked with a 2700, not a 301, and he swore it worked for him with a 2700:
*****C&P***********
Download wall and follow this:
1) Plug Jtag in, then IRD
2) Open Wall.
3) In the action menu erase Flash start location (1FC00000)
4) Unplug receiver then plug in again and restart Wall.
5) Select the bin file you want on there. Start address (1FC00000)
6) In Action menu choose Program Flash. (It may say "Slow mode"; ignore)
7) You will eventually get an Error. I didn't
8) Close Wall and unplug IRD
9) Plug in IRD and the light should flash if done correctly. You have now woken up your IRD.
10) Open JKeys and erase Flash full. WITHOUT unplugging the IRD, put your software back on.
11) Close JKeys unplug receiver
12) Plug receiver in and start JKeys. It should read your BKeys, IRD # and the IRD light should blink again.
13) Now erase Flash full. WITHOUT unplugging the IRD, put your software back on.
14) Now close JKeys, unplug IRD, plug IRD back in. You should be fixed and the light on your IRD will stay ON.
****************
I just tried this and got through step 8, no error messages, but at step 9 there was no flashing light, it's still dead.

Any thoughts on what to try next?

It is usually the mechanic, not the tool that does the damage.

Like jakey, he erases the flash then went and got a beer before he tried to write to it by then it did not know what it was anymore, if you do the erase and write the J-Keys program retians what it is working with, one slip and it forgets too.

It has always worked for me.

Just got mine going after 4 days of trying, not sure if Wall did the trick or something else, but many thanks for the tip.

When using Wall it states" id code incorrect" does that matter SJ?Does it matter what version of you use?

Wall will always give you this message if you are not connected to a 301. I just clicked OK. Not sure whether Wall cured my problem, but it did not hurt anything.

Open up Jkeys read the ird...On the left side drop down box select 2800 then hit detect just above that box...Now hit flash programming unplug ird and plug back in select 2800 again if you get trap functional bottom right your good to go do a full erase 3 times then write back your good clean saved image you should now have power.....;)

I've done that and get "trap functional" but also get jkeys error " The flash codes returned are not recognized by jkeys. Mfg/Device codes returned are 0/0(JEDEC) and 0/0 (Flash File).

It will not let me erase......

any ideas..rambo..any one:confused:

With the help of many,I got my 2800 reflashed and everything is good. What I finally did was solder a wire between pad 1 and a ground. This allowed me to get into jkeys and fix everything.I was using an internal jtag and I thought it was grounded. When in dought follow the instructions to the letter. Thanks all

ANything "stronger " than wall> It does not work for me. I think 1 receiver is complaetely dead since it is not even "ticking" when I power it on. The other "ticks" but still can't get it to write the new bin. It just freezes up.
Any thoughts?

Did you actually solder pad 1 from the bottom of ird to a ground?

No, my jtag has a ground switch which I used. I gues I'll try to solder one.
