Hi, I have a quad mode jtag i have never been able to figure out how to use...I have been thru so many guides as well...but nothings helping!!!!

I have a dp301.013 Single Tsop. Whenever, i open jkeys..its simply says unknown device and nothing else...I am placing the pins on the right pads and i have tried every possible combination but the Darn thing never detects...Checked the Jkeys version is correct as well.

Anybody in Toronto / surrounding area who could help me or has a spare jtag that works and could show me, we can negotiate a price...just pm me

Thanks

You should look up gunther's guide for the 301 or another 301 jtag guide, If you cannot find it PM me and I will try and get it to you it.
Here is a CP from someone else:
301.013 ‘ how to’
no jtag port with single chip = 4MB dump
Using a solder type jtag [with 100K resistors]
1] remove board from IRD housing and flip board over to access 18 pin jtag
2] < mother board rear >

2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9== PADS

11 12 13 14 15 16 17 183] Solder jtag # 2 to pad 2
3 to 3
4 to 4
5 to 6
13 to 5
18 thru 25 to 10
4] Plug parallel cable in to printer port and plug power to IRD
5] Use jkeys 2.01 and you will see F’s as box keys
a] choose " ird model" as [unknown]
b] "Region" is [ user specific]
c] Start = 7FC00000
d] Bytes = 400000
e] save memory [ DO NOT ERASE OR REFLASH!! ]
6] read 4 MB dump in ‘Ultra edit" at address
a] 003FFF40 = ird
b] 003FFF44 =Boxkeys
[ This was my way of retreiving info! Use at your own risk! ]
There are other ways to do this. All new info would be appreciated J
Included are some other files and read me’s
Thanks goes to the guys on several forums who helped on my info. Especially Dave2 for jkeys.

You should really think about a permanant Jtag unless you like holing on for 4-5 min for flashing.
