I had the same problem with my 2700. I fixed it by finding a modded tsop with a build configuration the same as mine. Do a search in the public file downloads. The more letters you can match, the better, but I read that you need to have at least the first 2 letters matching for it to work properly.

I have same program, I updated TSOP and programmed the atmega, it is acquiring sattelite signal for ever, even I do not see the signal strength at installation menu.

flash edit 01 02 is probably what you got in the data area you need 00 02 that should bring me your signal back let me know if this helps

I am getting the same problem, acquiring sat signal.
I am using a 2700 Build COPA.
I programmmed my Atmega 128 properly using the hex filem, eeprom file and changed the Lok fuse Bytes.
I then took the 2700-2800 TSOPthat I downloaded and modded the Build number via Flash Edit to match mine and saved it ( I even tried adjusting the Bootstrap at one point). I then took the eeprom and used a Hex Editor to change the Build number and saved it. I then Erased my TSOP in Flah Keys and programmed the new TSOP, I then programmed the new EEpom. No signal!!!
I have tried reversing the build number of the EEprom all no avail. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. By the way I accidentally lost my original backup of my TSOP, although I still have the original EEprom.

i got them working.. what i did what use another tsop with the same build # i guess some receivers are fussy about having the right build. mine was CAPD.
this worked in both. CAPD and CARD receivers... build CAPA wouldnt work in either of them.

Ok I finally got it working here is the solution for me
Went into Flash Edit and loaded the 2700/2800 TSOP changed the Build Number to match mine and modified the Build Data,
My First line Was = 43 41 50 44 00 00 01 02
Changed the 3rd last digit to a zero
Build Data is now = 43 41 50 44 00 00 00 02

I have changing the last number in hex editor and saved as new flash and and then loaded this flash again. I changed last three number from 01 02 to 00 02 as shown under:
Original 31 35 41 42 4C 37 3B 8A 43 41 4E 44 00 00 01 02 15ABL7;ŠCAND
Changed to 31 35 41 42 4C 37 3B 8A 43 41 4E 44 00 00 00 02 15ABL7;ŠCAND
Problem is same, receiver keeps searching for signal and even there is no signal strength on signal bar under insallation menu. Please help

I have changed the last number in hex editor (as I do not have flash edit 2 or higher) and saved as bin file as new flash and and then loaded this flash again.
I also prgramed the modified eprom also. And its working now......

301.010 up and running with atmega again. I read some suggestions/results from a few threads here that did the trick.

I ran U22 & U23 through flashedit and changed the first line of the build data from 08 07 to 00 07 and erased flash 1 & 2, then re-flashed ird with the modded scripts. Thanks to those that posted what was working for them.
