can someone smarter then me help.
i just bought a hp media edition pentium d dual core 300 gig tower .(nice)
it did not come with a serial rs232 port so i can run my xtreme programer on it.xtreme programer has rs232 connector)
so i went to compusa and bought a pci card that had one parrell port and two serial port outputs and install the drivers that came with it.
i hooked up my programer and selected port 4 and then tried 5 port and it will not communicate with programer,(i know the com's live on 4 and 5 for serial 232.
the green and red lite on programer stay on all the time with a good card in it.i also tryed on my old ME computor and it works fine,so guys what am i missing ,also checked device manager and all ports are present for the new pci card ,yes i also tried add hardware.
