That happens to me when I use my laptop. doesn't happen at my office pc.
Try another computer before you lose much hair over it.

thanks that worked..however in order to get it to work i had to go into flash programming even with the errors and at the next screen whether i unplugged power and plugged back in then hit the ok button it still would not read but if i went into flash programming and selected ok then unplugged the ord and then plugged right back in it read it and i was able to erase the tsop and put the new one on successfully.. my problem now is it just says searching for st signal.. but at least i have my power light back on.. i checked and i have my build config to CASD just like mine is and i have the line changed that says 01 02 to 00 02 but still not sat signal at all.. so i will work on that now but thanks for the info cause i can now at least read and write my tsop again and i have my power back..

Hey all, what about this error in JKEYS
Error reading from IRD (DCU Peek)
anyone seen this before?
Thanks
Doing a "Search" on DCU Peek gave me 7 pages of which many are repeats on this subject. :)
Ground PIN1 on a Legacy IRD...If it is a 301.013 then ground R79 instead.
make sure you have a good ground for the Jtag.
use as short a cable from the IRD to the Parr Cable as possible.
I have same problem. Is there any other program to earase TSOP.Mfg/device codes returned are FFFF/FFFFF(JEDEC) and FFFF/FFFF(flash file).Nothing works for me.I'll try all diffrent options, doesn't work any of them.I have ird model 2800

I have a few jtags ... used with cable attached .. no problem .. if I try to use a 2 foot cable .. I get DCU error , if your getting this error with
regular cable I would clean rec with soft white pencil eraser:cool:
1. Why would you limit yourself to the atmega forum for an error that is possible to have on all IRDs? it is most relevant with the 2700 and 301.013s.
If the tsop is NOT damaged the errors usually come from a ground issue or something causing non communications between the jtag and IRD .... IE the too long a cable or bad connection (be sure the wires on the jtag are not broken or lose).
The PAD1 to ground almost always solves the errors though providing the connections on the other pins are good?
