I have a Dish 3900. Using Atmega 128. Re flashed the ird, used AtmegaN2 v10, but when I put the card in the receiver I get smart card not inserted correctly. The card is in the right way. When I look in the sys info screen, there is no number by the Dish500 Card Ready. Any Ideas? Thanks!

I've cleaned and reprogrammed the Atmega twice and still 019. Is there a chance that I didn't flash the ird properly? thanks.

I had the same problem, if your board has a jumpper on it like mine, you leave it on to erace and program. Remove it before you stick it in the receiver.

Thanks for the reply!!
Is it necessary to have the jumper on while erasing and programming, or can it be left off altogether??

Had that problem also ,You need to follow the read me instructions to the T, Make sure that You Apply the 3900 patch and write the new ird info back to your receiver, If You do it right it will work!:D
I had the same problem I had to moddify it for multipul crystal speeds. Check your crystal I bet you don't have a 18 or 18.432. I have a 16mzh so I had to mod the file and got it to work.

Replace the default selection in the pfg file with 18.000 mhz (the option is in the curly braces).. Or click on the edit tier 1 and that combo will become enabled...
select the proper speed and deselect edit tier 1.

Black screen usually means your keys are wrong, check your .eep file to make sure Ikey0 is cơrect at line 10001000 and Ikey1 is correct at line 10002000, reflash both .eep and .hex files, and do your fuse bits, that should fix the problem

atmega keys are 99% of the atmega problems with blackouts. If your getting smart card not inserted correctly its usually a bad connection. Ensure the info on your TSOP is the same as your mega program, then try pulling the card and putting it back in, Prop it in place if loose with a credit card/business cad. Sometimes this occurs at random because of a bad connection to the IRD pads.
As for the crystal speed you should try to make sure its the same, you may make your atmega mad if your using a 16MHz and trying to process at 18.432MHz. As for it working it still should, just probably more lockups and freezes because its sending commands quicker than it can complete them. Probably isn't good for the chip in the long run.
