Get your flash file and program ready to flash. and flip off the switch in the back and wait 30 seconds then turn on and as soon as you see the dashes that flash on the reciever hit the progarm button. i went nuts with this when I first got mine, one of the new ones.
I have tried everything is still no go the stupid thing wont flash tried every loader out there and still getting flash error can somebody tell me how PLEASE HELP OUT!!!!!

Do a factory default, then upload (with the uploader v.3.31 from Fortec site) the factory bin. and then your good last working bin (using probably BL v.1.4.0.0 uploader) . Please, do not touch the Boot file!!! And remember to use an straigth through cable. I guess you know about the timing for uploading bins.

Ya use a 9 female to female cable. Do factory reset first. Im guessing your uploading 2.82t and not the pansat one. try using the program from this site http://thedishguy.com/fortec.htm
okay i've tried a factory reset it erased all my channels had to scan it back, i tried loading the factory bin and my reciever still gets flash update fail.I just flashed 2 more fortec ultra's with the 282t2 bin but just cant get mine to flash, should i do a s/w transfer will that work?

If you can't flash it, it isn't likely to take a software transfer either. As mentioned above, reset the software to factory BEFORE you flash it. I'm not sure what software loader you're using, but the Blacklist loader works the best on difficult STB's.

You are doing something wrong!!!
If I understand well, you made a factory reset that erased ALL information, so you scanned your channels back... without flashing???
If you get a flash update fail message, could be for a serie of reasons:
First double check your cable, should be a straigth through, double check your COM PORT settings in your computer, those settings should match with those in the uploader, take care with the timing when you push the download button!!!
You can use the Uploader v.3.31 From Fortec yo upload the factory bin and for your working bin try the BL v.1.4.0.0.
I know its not my cable or settings cause i just flashed 2 more recievers and they took it and i've tried the uploader 3.31, 3.21, octupus loader bl v.1.4.0.0 and every other loader out there nothng is working and i've done a factory reset than tried flashing before scanning my channels back and still getting flash update fail does anyone else have the same problem if so a little help would be appreciated

Try using another cable, looks like there is not comunication betwen the PC and the reciever; in addition, please open the receiver up, take a look and try re-setting every connector and take advantage of that and take the board out and check the soldering points where the RS-232 connector is attached, let us know!

I don't want to jack the thread, but you CAN do a factory reset and rescan WITHOUT reflashing the receiver. I just did it, and have several times.

I always have my reciever turned on by the switch in the back but turned off by the button in front.I have never had to time things just right in order to reprogram.
