How to change the keys manually on a fortec using the remote.
some of you were asking on how to manually enter keys on the fortec? well here it is enjoy... This is how I changed my Keys.

Ok guys here is something for those who want to change the keys on the fortec receiver without waiting
for a fix Bin Fix. I have done this manually on my fortec and it is EZ.

REMOTE FUNCTIONS
1 to 9 on remote control
SAT= A
INFO= B
TV/RADIO=C
PAUSE= D
AUDIO=E
Guide= F

With your fortec remote press MENU scroll to where it says channel edit.
Now scroll to where it says CODE then press OK. now enter 0000 or 1668 this will open a window call KeyCode function.
Scroll down to Nagravision and press enter. with the left or right key on the remote look for Dish Network on top of the screen.
Look now you will see key O scroll down to where it says keys enter current key 0 press enter once you have entered the key 0.
Again scroll to where it says Key number and change that to key 1 then enter key 1 once you have done that press OK.
That's it Hit EXIT a couple of times and walla TV. You can practically enter any key for any provider available with the FORTEC.

It wont work for D*** nor for B**
I've sped days jtagging and testing bins. My conclusion is all a hoax.
people simply lyeing. none woudn't give details about the:
Boot #, Bin used, and EXACT sequence for introducing the keys. I'm being paranoiac and think these peopl are from D*** or B** just making noise.

FLOCEA drop the crack pipe and step away from the key board before you have a TV black out. Dude if you can figure it out please by all means share your wisdom with us dummies.
your third post and you are making an ass of your self. So please give us dummies a brake.

I think what he's saying is the same problem I'm having - I can change the keys in the menu like I always have, but they don't seem to do anything. I'm running the latest 282 file on my receiver, is there a fortec file that allows a key change without changing it to a pansat?

1Qwikbee look at mena post. he is right. what I posted was for the N1 not the N2.
that is why it no longer works. So it looks like what I posted above is for the N1 streem.

You can't enter keys for the Fortec Lifetime Ultra because it doesn't have Nag 2.
You need to convert your Fortec receiver to Pansat. In doing so, you need this file X-85BL_051201_256t_NewKeys_api(N).

After you upload this file then do the followings:

1- menu
2 - parental control
3 - OK
4- scroll down with ch key on remote to second pin
5- enter 0000 and click OK
6- you are now in the CAS System screen
7-scroll down to "set default key" and click OK
8- scroll up to "nagravision" and click OK
9- push vol> button twice - box will change to Dish
10- push ch down one time to key number 00
11- push vol> 2 times - you will see nagr 2 in top left corner
12- scroll down to 'key data' window - enter new key
13 - hit OK
14- ch. up one time to the 00 and use vol>button to change to 01
15-ch. down to "key data' enter second set of key numbers
16- hit OK - now hit exit button until completely out

Here are the keys:
Key 00: 3D 73 19 22 27 5D C2 C9
Key 01: 97 96 5A 0C A5 79 27 F9

Enjoy

FlyingBird, you are spoonfeeding. And I agree with that if somebody shows that at least they read and could not find the info they need... but in this case... Any way, good info, thanks.

An additionally information, yes, somewhere is a modded Fortec file that have the N2 section for keys!!!
