How long for dish 6000

Thinking about avr-x a dish 6000 reciever but i was curious how long are they going to be useful before they change everything to mpeg4 like direct tv

Unless ALL dish and bev IRD's can get it it will be a long time, a card change out takes a year, a IRD change out will take many years
