510 and dolby digital ?

Have my 510 set up on my 5.1 receiver and am only getting sound out of front and center. is this normal on the channels that say friends[dd] i assumed that dd ment 5.1 maybe im wrong. receiver works fine for dvds and the test tones work on all 5 channels.

I never could get DD except on PPV channels. I am assuming you are using optical cable.....

Dolby work for Some PPV and Few Premium. Not all channels. Although I think I still get sound from center speaker instead of the fronts. Maybe my reciever is doing virtual sorround or something.

well what i noticed last night is the ones that only say dd are giving me front sub and center. i was watching batman begins last night which said dd lbx and i got 5.1 so even though it says dd that dosnt appear to mean 5.1 even tough it is triggering my receiver into dd mode.

I can't seem to get dolby digital on my 501 on any channels. Not even PPV. Does the HD sat feed have to be hooked in or is 110/119 good for DD? I have my optical cable hooked up to my home theatre but I can only get DD out of my DVD player. I also have DD selected on my 501 Dolby Digital menu. What do I need to do in order to get DD?

Try using the rca audio out jacks on the 501, Those are stereo. The rf tv out jack is mono only.I don't recall a optical out on 501's.
