Ok, A Xm Radio Can Only Be Deactivated After Being Powerd Down And Rebooted, If The Power Is Never Removed The Radio Will Continue To Function Indefinetly.(this Does Not Include The Panel Power Button, Even Though The Display Is Shut Off The Radio Is Actually Still On, Like A Dishnet Reciever.)

I Took The 12 Volt Power Lead And Hooked It Up To A 12v Nicad Pack, From The Power Pack I Ran Leads To A Relay, From The Relay To The Vehicles Battery.this Way The Radio Always Has Power To It Even If The Car Battery Dies The Relay Will Switch To The Nicad And Will Charge The Battery When The Car Runs.

I Have Been On 6 Months And A Few Days Now I Hope This Helps A Few Of You Out, Untill A Full Fix Is Released.

I Have Done This On 3 Roady 2 Units All Have Been Going Strong, I Cant Verify For Other Units However I Am Sure All Units Are In This Way Alike!!!

Pm Me If You Want Pics And Schematic Of Method

My roady2 unit only needs 6V.....the adapter that plugs into cig. lighter is 12V in, 6V out.....are you supplying the 12V on the frontend of that?

also, I'd like to see you pics and schematic....can you post it here? if not, send it in a pm..

Instead of using relays, why not use a diode, should be lots cheaper and simpler!

Ok has anyone gotten any real answers at all. I have asked for assistance and not really gotten any from the people that claim they have had success. I even sent a pm and never received a response. To everyone that has responded, I do appreciate it, but it is still a mystery to me if XM or Sirrus can actually be hacked. Doesn't matter to me if it is for Sirrus or XM, but I thought XM (especially the Roady2 might be easier). If anyone has any answers please respond or pm me so that I can put closure on this matter one way or another. Thanks again in advance, donzx999

If The Power Is Never Removed The Radio Will Continue To Function Indefinetly

You mean XM didn't realize that radios are hooked to a power supply that may not be disconnected for days, weeks or maybe even years? Are day sto pidd??!?

I have a pioneer in dash setup. The power was set up with the igition on the xm reciever unit but the radio would always reset to channel 1 when I started the vehicle. I wired the power on constant for the reciever. I recently cancelled the subscription for my truck and the subscription stayed active for about 2 months. Don't know what changed for it to finally stop working but it did work for a while.
