Hi rubberman
Long time no see!
Yes, I'm sitting naked in my bean bag chair eatin a bag of Cheetos and watchin Dishnet.....lol.
Our emulators are paying for themselves once more.
Reflash your IRD with X10, flash your max&mel with 2chip N2.hex, build a DOS cemu bootdisk and you can be naked in your beanbag chair too.
Keep well

i have the 1 chip emu. but found the 1chip 007 hex for the 2313 atmel. I think i found the 3900ird modded TSOP flash. is that the right one? its called "3900-11AB-CLFA-11LN-P236-FAC6.bin" the firmware on the 3900 is already at P236. Will the DOS cemu boot disc work with windows XP?

There are two Cemu program, one for winxx and one for Dos. I like the Dos better, unless you are going to run more than one IRD from the Puter. There is a file called "cemu ready to go.zip that is ready to run, no fooling around with it. I have my clothes on, but wide open Dish is good, all I need now is a cold apple and some popcorn. Thanks to Cancom and the Bear.

Hi Cancom,
You had helped me in the past and I really appreciated that. I have been await from the sat scene for a while and I hope you could give me some guidance to get me started.
I had emulation before and I have not tested since N1(?) was discontinued. Some of your comment have me confused a little.
I have model 301 rev 11. I remember from befor that I should back up my flash regions and when the receiver get shot I would use the back up to repair the receiver. But here, you say that I should reflash the receiver with with X10. Does that mean I should download X10 into my receiver? Apology if this is extremely stupid and simple.
Thanks,

If you will download the cemu.rar in the public downloads, the readme file pretty much tells you all you need to know. How to update your IRD's firmware and then patch it, *the patch is in the rar file* on thru to flashing your atmel for a 1 chip or a 2 chip emu, and that's it. Most people's problems getting it up, me included, was because it was so dang easy, I was trying to add tiers and TZ's and all that is not needed....
This is a tad different that the N1 EMU. Mine will be up a week tomorrow, and it works fantastic, well worth the effort. Just use a 2 chip EMU and you'll get a lot better performance.
Took me 3 days to make one work, now I could probably do it in 3 hours, lots of misinformation floating around... beware of what you read....
Good Luck

Please clarify some part of the guide for me. The first step contradict with my understanding. I quote the step below. This step is to force an update so that the IRD gets the latest flash load (Am I right?). I thought that this is the same as fixing the IRD after it has been disabled by the stream. All I had to do before was to erase sector 5 of the flash, adn wait for the IRD to get the update.
I do not have a card, hence emulation, how do I execute this step?
Here the step in the guide.
Thanks,
1
. Make sure your receivers TSOP version is the LATEST ONE! If it isn't you will have problems. The easiest way to update your firmware is with a virgin card. Open Nagra edit and do a one step clean any rom 3 or 10. Open the data editor tab and change the ird #'s and the boxkeys to all zero's. Click on write to card. That card will now work in any receiver to update the firmware. Hook up the receiver to the dish and run a switch check. You need get both 119's and at least one of the 110 signals confirmed. Then with the remote control push these buttons in this order; menu># 6># 3>info>right arrow>left arrow>wait for the grid to appear completly>t.v. video>power off>power on>wait until you can pull up the guide>go to channel 101>wait until you see video> power off. Usually it will start to update within one minute, but some receivers are a little stubbord so be patient. If it does not update within 15 minutes then re-corrupt the eeprom memory again, ect.
