Eagle Star 53-2500A FTA reciever

ok heres the deal.

I recently got handed a eagle star 2500A fta reciever from a friend. I am new to Fta have been around the testing seen for quite abit then stepped out for a biot now back in with the avr-x and stuff, but id like to fool around with this fta on the side, may it be with bell, dish or whatever. If some1 can jsut give me a rough idea of how to get started, what i need, where to download..etc, i know its probably on this site i tried searching but my computer just kept freezing so figured id jsut shoot my luck with this. Sounds like it might be a clone of a Pansat 2500, as many were.You need a female/female straight through parallel cable, and a null modem adapter just in case for programming it. If it is a Pansat clone, bins are readily available.
dssrookie is a great resource for odd fta stuff.

It is a Pansat clone for sure... one thing though keep in mind all tne new bins for Pansat will kill the clone dead be very carefull.....

If it is a Pansat clone, the Pantec safe bins will work fine. Get your cable, adapter, and download a loading program like BlackList loader, and try it out.

wow thanks guys for the fast replys, ill try out some of it and see what i can do. One question if i may whats the null modem adapter for exactly? and secondly whats a good site to get safe bins i can try out? Thanks again every1 i owe you all.

Null modem adapter goes on the end of the parallel cable to flip the terminals of the cable. Not sure if your receiver needs it or not, but if you have it, you won't be stuck when you try to flash it.

ok heres what iv done so far

first my dish is set up currently for bell expressvu

got the cable and uploaded this file
"DishTown.com-261-pantec-pansat-fortec-clone-fix-Dec-20"

it worked shut it off, and hooked up to my tv/sat cables.

Now im a little confussed on entering the keys iv tried following the online guides and tried doing it not sure if im jsut missing it. these are the current keys.

so i tried entering the FTA formatted keys but how do i enter both sets of numbers like 00, 01 then 00, 01 again since there isnt enough space to do that. Then do i need to put these IDEa keys and stuff in to? Thanks again for the help and hopefully some1 will be able to help me out abit more and hopefully i can get her running sometime soon. so what i did was

00 - 5504A5EC4C475A44 then 01- EB06FFC62AF85089

now i dont have any spaces left to put the other IDEA key in.

one last thing i noticed when getting to the screen where i input the keys, is one of the steps says to use the volume right arrow until u see nagra 2 in the top left corner. No matter what i press either way left or right the only thing there is Nagravision. does this mean this reciever is older and not N2 ready and i cant do anything with it? thanks again every1

I am having the same problem with a pansat2500a clone. I have tried numerous clone safe bins, none give you nagra 2 screen or provider 0901. I went to the ffffff screen and inputed keys there but no go. Tv screen either says scrambled or downloadinkeys depeending on which bin is loaded. I'll keep looking for diferent bins that might let me input keys. My fortec works fine for charlie.
