Question about in line amplifiers

I just got some in line amps to boost my signal.What is the proper positioning for best results,near the receiver or close to the dish or does it matter.

Get quad sheilded cable and get rid of the amps, they are a waste. But if you must use them I think the middle is the best place. They just amp the noise and well as the signal. Some high quality quad sheilded cable will be more effective. I noticed a 0% increase on my friends system with an amp, new cable and there was about 10% increase. Also don't use more than one of them on the same line. That will probably make it even worse.
