I followed the instructions for the no zkt mod for the 430/431 mod exactly.

I got all the way to the last step and I get an error.
The error reads Error detecing erasing sector.

I get at the bottom of the window awaitng erasure completion. sector 1
sector 2

all the way to 31 and then the error.

Any Ideas or solutions?

thanks

I believe the only thing left is to right the bin to the DRD430.

Only thing is, this is when I get the error.

I have checked my connections many, many times.

Everything looks fine.

HDTV MAN,
I got your message.... The reason I haven't responded before, is that I don't know what to tell you.... While I've been doing this stuff for a few years now, there is alot that I still don't know.... While I do hold degrees in electronics and computer science, that doesn't always help.... I have only done two IRD mods to date and don't consider myself qualified to answer your questions.... There is however, a very good thread going on the same subject.... That's why I'm going to have to start preaching the virtues of reading and using the search function.... Nothing personal guy.... We are getting a good message base back up and are starting to attract some good people....
Please read through the other threads....
Sorry, while I AM the chosen one, I still have alot to learn....
Mark

Then it errors out.

OK. just looked at a 430 and measured voltage at the infrared sensor. get out your meter and try this. facing the back of the receiver look at the sensor and you will see three pads. the left pad i got no voltage. i assume this is a ground. the middle pad i got 5 volts. the right pad i got slightly less than 3 volts. when i activated the remote i was able to detect a transient variation of about 0.25 volts. i did not take the circuit board out to look any further. i would try looking here first and see it you are getting the transient. this way i think you can rule out the sensor.

let me know what you find and we can go from there.

thanks will do

if you still get power to the receiver then you haven't killed it. it's still reprogrammed. unless you've got some port left i would not try and reinstall the jtag. but that's up to you. the remote problem has nothing to do with the flash. it's something else. did you check the readings at the infrared sensor?

I have tried it three times and still nothing. I have another that I can't clean sector31.

what a bitch..

I want to think you for all your excellent help!

Your right I was up all night trying to get this to work. I should have taken your suggestion to slow down, take a deep breath, have a beer or a valium or both and rethink this.

I can't seem to get the 431 to do anything, all it tells me there is a short some where.

I have replaced the JTAG several time and still no success.

I got the eprom erased, but can't get the damn thing to read anymore.

it's okay to follow the trace up a little further to find a better contact.

Right?

yes.... I just could not erase sector 31 and could only load the bin up to 98%..

I did this three times thinking it was not working, but tried it and bamb it works.

Have you not be able to right the entire flash and it still work?

Also, where can I get the flash for a DRD222???

Thanks again for all you help.

:) :)

If it comes back 01 it is locked, 00 is unlocked. To unlock type 7FFE0000, 60 in byte, write byte, D0 in byte, write byte and then check again with the 7FFE0004, 90, to see if it went to 00.

There is a flash for the 222 on www.unwink.com. But you have to have the receiver with the intel or whatever chip in the U13105 spot. Otherwise, it is not compatiable for the no zkt.

what ver. of jkeys?

what speed of PC?

Thanks

I used version of jkey 2.0.

But I f***** my IRD up before I finished so I can't tell you if it will actually work or not. I just found that somewhere on the net, but damn if I can't remember where. OH well. Too much valium and beer I guess!!!:)

Maybe I should try some valium and beer.......

I have tried to write the damn flash 10 time and can only get to 96% and then it errors out.

I thought I would try and see if it worked anyway. The power light comes on, but that it's.

if anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
