i read somewhere that the only way to do that is turn your dtv ird to a fta. i think u need a specific model to do it. thats all i really know about it.

Simple answer no.... Long answer, some people worked on that project with the dtv rca 220 receiver, the result was a semi functioning 2700. so technicaly yes, practicaly no.

If there were,it sure as hell wouldn't be an easy fix.It'd be like changing a MAC to a PC or vice versa.
Go to ebay and get a good 301.10 or something cheap.

there is an update. there are some ird's that can make a change to fta (pansat 2500)

I gave up on it it frooze to much, to many updates needed.
And of course soon as I quit doing it there has been no need to update it since so if I had stayed with it it would have worked out ok for awhile.

The one I had you could convert it and when it needed new keys or whatever all you had to do is flash the settings part not the whole ird like the first time
