ok guys i need all of your collective help, i have
been reading and searching alot, and i have found
problems similar to mine but never any solution that
anyone confirms to work.. I have 2 3900's both were
working fine 2 days ago around 8pm. no problems
whatso ever. my first 3900 stays on, hooked up to my
DishPro Quad LNB through the dish adapter to allow
Legacy receivers to work with DP. Never had any issues
with it. Well when i unplugged the sat feed from
reciever 1 and plugged it into receiver 2, everything
was fine, receiver 2 found the switch (DP 500 quad)
and found both satellites, so i unplug the sat feed
cable and plug it back into receiver 1. upon doing so
i see that teh screen is showing the "Satellite signal
lost" error screen.. so i go into the check switch and
run check switch... now reciever 1 is not finding
satellites.. teh screen comes up just like this..
UNKNOWN
1 1 2 2
x even x x
No Switch box detected.
I get a good strong 120 signal locked on 119 but
nothing on 110, and not all 119 is coming in.. only
some transponders.. so i am getting some channels but
only a handful or so. SO next i think.. hmm let me
try receiver 2.. plug it up, run check switch. SAME
THING! now receiver 2 doesnt work either.. I have
tried replacing the dish Adapter that converts legacy
receivers to work with DP, still same result,
REflashed my tsop, same result, reflashed eeprom with
virgin, same result, put new connectors on teh lines,
same result.. I also checked teh Voltage output of teh
reciever, which is right at 13v and some times around
17v for different transponders, and with the adapter i
am getting an even 19.9 to 20.0v as i should for DP.
I am COMPLETELY stumped and i am going to take a
receiver to a friends house that has the older legacy
dish and see if it works there.. Whats going on? Did
both IRDs die at the exact same time, are both dP
adapters bad? or is my dP quad LNB bad? oh forgot to
mention, my 811HD works just fine, finds all sats adn
transponders.. someone help a poor guy out, im about
to toss them out the window!
