I had a perfectly working 301. 010 that I have jtaged several times in the past. I have used this receiver since the magic card. Since the magic card, I have also used it for the atmega card. The unit is jatagable from the bottom. It is a dual chip receiver. NOW: I wanted to get it ready for my new avr-x card. I soldered the header in place. This seemed to install flawlessly. I tried without success to let the software update in the stream (receiver power off) my software version was at P225. This was a no go, so I programmed my old magic card with all the details for this receiver. I let it go through its song and dance and presto, I got to the preview channels. Now I powered down and in no time my receiver was taking all the updates. It indeed finished and let me back to the preview channels. I did a system info, and low and behold I was now at P243. Stut everything down, hooked up my avr-x and now the receivers green light goes on for one to two seconds and goes off. Same deal when I insert any card. The green light will go on for a second or two and off. Now when I try to read the receiver with my jtag (pogo pin style) Jkeys will not recognize the receiver. Tried several versions of Jkeys and also wall. Does anyone have any ideas as to what locked me out.

reflash your reciever
Grab a tsop from the TSOP bank that fits your build
worry only about the first 2 letters of the builg config.
Your flash is corrupt or didn't program correctly.
***** After re-reading this does your IRD have locks if so turn lock to off position and power cycle IRD *****
Hope it helps.

I well agree with my Tsop being currupt or maybe not a perfect write, BUT I can not get Jkey to recognize the receiver and can not read or write to it.
PS there are no locks on this receiver.

Carl2615,
It sounds like you may have a broken lead in your Jtag. Make continuity checks for each lead.
Hope this helps!!

Jtag proves to be OK.
I just jtaged my 013 from the bottom and I got an instant read with all functions available to me.
I also tried wall, but again I can not write to the receiver. I'm locked out.

Use Wall. I fried my .10 while back and used it to resurect it and it works perfectly fine now. READ and FOLLOW every step.

Well, I said that I would report back with the end results. Here they come, but first, I want to thank everyone that took a shot with my problem. All the ideas that were offered are for sure valid.
Now here comes the most embarrassing part.......
My chief complaint was that the receivers green light comes on for one second and turns off completely. And finally that I could no longer get my jtag to inentify with the receiver (013) My Jatg that I use is bufferred and it has a two wire pigtail leading to a male and female cap. (the very cap used to snap to a 9 volt battery) it is supposed to snap to a small case that holds two AA batteries. Well I'm sure that most of you reading and guess the ending. For some CRAZY reason, I just grabbed a 9 volt and snapped it to the end plug, and I guess that I have electrocuted something on the board. What a dumb mistake.!!!!!
Any suggestions ???
Services will be announced for my 010 and the burial to follow.
This is for sure, the dumbest stunt that I can remember.
Regards.....Carl2615
Don't see that as being a problem, I use 9volt ac/dc adaptor.. works fine on a mr. whites buffered jtag
