i fried my 013 dual, and i have 2 resitorss theat go wacko when i test them. i have a second ird to compare with. i need a larger gery resistor located at r5104, banded gold, brown, dark green, purple(mauve), and the second is the black with grey band. it is at cr5006. not sure if one or both is bad, or only one causing the other to read bad, but i need to know if there is a possibility of buying this anywhere?

Resistor color code
0----Black-------Bad
1----Brown-----Boys
2----Red--------Rape
3----Orange---Our
4----Yellow----Young
5----Green----Girls
6----Blue------But
7----Violet----Violet
8----Gray-----Gives
9----White---Willingly
5%-Gold-----Get
10%--Silver--Some
Any --None---Now
Violet-Green-Brown-Gold=750 ohms with 5% Tolerance
One is a resistor the other is a diode. It is possible the diode failed
causing the resistor to burn. Best chance of getting the diode is from
another 013 dual if you can find one.

thanks,
i got the 750 and 5%, but i have no idea how many watts it is. any idea where to get that info? also, how do u measure the voltage of a diode. i have an old 1000, and am wondering if that may have what i need?

I wager that you don't get this 301 going, power supply problems can go pretty deep, you'll spend a lot of time and will see no results. I gave up on power supplies back in the DTV days, I fixed many 420/440/480 power supplies, never got a 430/450 fixed, too much time involved. For $30 or so, you can buy another 301.

already got another, and yes, u r prolly right, but wtf, y not?
like i posted in my other thread, i compared all diode readings from this oe to the good, and only 2 differences. the resistor i mentioned and a diode, that i got zero on both on the banded side, and 30 on the good ird and scrambled #'s on the bad ird. i'm not sure thats a good test though, but i'll try. i got a beautiful schematic of the 013(which this site is in dire need for, and i will upload it later). thinking positive.

If you got the time, go for it, but a 301 power supply is not a good place to learn basic electronics on. You'll find that out soon enough.
