2800 Picture Quality

I have a 2800 that I have modded using Penga's fix. This is the first time I have used Dish Network. I used the HU cards with DirecTV. I have noticed that the picture was a lot clearer with DirecTV. Is there anything that can be done to get a better picture??? Or is that the best Dish Network can do???
What about a different receiver??? My signal strength is about 75 and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I don't think that matters.

Not positive but I think it's the compression they use. I notice lots of pixelization in dark scenes using a 510 dvr.
