Anyone have a spec sheet for the AM29DL323GT chip used as a TSOP flash in IRD's?
I have been investigating the vidmod procedure for the 510 IRD and finding issues of great concern.
I found a spec sheet for a chip, that I believe is the current production version of that chip, different number though, it does directly refer to the above part# however.
The above chip was made by AMD. It appears AMD has partnered with Fujitsu and is now marketing Flash chip under the Spansion tradename. That is where I found the sheet I looked at. AMD website links off to Spansion for all flash products. I imagine what is needed is a older spec sheet, prior to the company changes, directly for the AMD29DL323 chip.

I use the original 4 wire 2 cut method, and am able to erase and reflash BOTH chips, no problems at all.
This includes the AMD29DL323GT and STM29W320DT chips found in the PVRs.
I have found that erasing flash 1 is alll that is needed for it anyway, but it will reprogram 100% with the mod above, at one time I reflashed it with the flash 2 file, it seemed to make it update faster, I no longer believe that to be true, so I just erase it and erase flash2 and reprogram it.

Yes, but this thread is about obtaining a spec sheet for the GT chip, not how to flash.
Do you have a spec sheet to share or a link to one?

I know it's about a spec sheet, the only link I have is the one for the site you mentioned.
I was just commenting on the concerns you had about the mod.....

Thanks, my concerns are not about the mechanics of the mod but the finer points. The vendor updated his link to the spec sheet after I notified them of the broken link. Here is a link to the spec sheet. http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/25686.pdf
Now I can read up.... Apparently the vidmod connects to pin 12 (reset), I was under the impression it connected to the write enable (pin 14). Something fishy I noticed, the AM29DL323GT sold by highontech CLAIMS to not be write protected, yet it is the same part number GT chip used OEM in the IRD that IS write protected. This may be another error on their website, I contacted them and asked about this, we shall see.
