Sequence, It's all about sequence. Install Jtag, Short R79, Plug in IRD. Start Jkeys

You can turn on the vidmod enable anytime after the power is on if you are using the 9volt battery. If powered by the reciever, anyime before jkeys starts erasing is good. If erase takes too short a time, exit flash programming (not necessary to exit jkeys) turn off vidmod and power-down/power up reciever. turn vidmod on and go into flash mode again.
With the battery vidmod if you turn vidmod on while power is off (or power off while vidmod is on) you have a good chance of frying the flash. I've heard every possible synonym for (but it's always worked before) But just like unplugging keyboards and mice while powered up works fine until the computer or keyboard fry.
A nice 9volt alkaline battery can belt out a healthy scorch for a few seconds and all it takes is a 50 volt static electric jolt (and you'd never feel a static shock at that low voltage) and the little parasitic pnp xsisters in the tsop substrate turn on and poof, no more tsop. When normal power is on the tsop that cannot happen as the active chip with valid voltages would absorb anything that small because the current is low.

1st thing, don't switch vid mod off or on while powered up, you can damage a flash chip, notice I said can not will. You may already have, but not nescessarily.

Do you have r79 grounded?? If a lock is installed is it off??

yes skinerd l have the r79 grounded, after rechecking my vid mod lseem to only get 2.89 volts sb35 withvid mod off and the same on the spot when it should be at 3.2 volts skinerd is this the problem also the CPU is not getting hot telling me that this bitch has gone into a coma.................

You can eliminate the spot as a connection point, find another good 3.2v source and use it instead. See a lock install guide for a good 3.2v source point. There is one close to the spot.
The spot is the flash line from the CPU, and that can be damaged by a mod error, I have reveived a few by eliminating the spot and using 3.2v from elsewhere.

I am assuming that you can jtag and read/erase flashes with the vid mod on??

l can only read it but l cant erase it if l try to erase its only for a split second and l know its not doing it right how can l get the tsop to erase is there any other way maybe with the j/k fix but l have no green light when l plug it in....
