i started the vidmod, and i did the trace cut on top, but i think i may have nicked the trace above it. i used a very sharp razor. how would i know if this will be an issue?
also, how do i marry hdd? i've read that i need to zero it out, how do u do that? and using a rom 10 fix, do i need to downgrade the hdd?

get the maxtor program from files. it will create a boot disk. pull the hd and plug it into your pc. reboot off the boot disk and select quick 0 from the options. once that is done you need to have firmware 080 on the 510 with the proper boxkeys ird info in it. plug in the harddrive after your put that firmware on and it will remarry to receiver.

510's marry just fine without zeroing. I read many threads saying yes and no when I did mine. I used a p079 flash , it married just fine without removing and zeroing the drive. Many others report the same.
I know it used to be required to zero the drive, for the 508 I believe but apparently something has changed that its no longer required.
