508 problem

Took my 508 back to the person who vid moded it and got a sick ird. back. From what I can tell he did a trace cut on bottom than supplied 12v to 1 wire. Ird had been running flawless for a year wanted to run syn. card thought it be better to have him do vmod .It kicked out during program, now when you supply power you get a chirping noise from pwr. board and red and green lites flash off and on. just want to know how to tell if it`s toast or is there a magic bullet. CPu is not getting hot.

Seems you know the problem, the vidmod..... Hopefully it was the 4wire/2cut mod. If that mod, there is also a cut directly between u6&U7 on the topside also. I wouldn't power it until the vidmod is gone over to see what is wrong.

no it`s not the vmod that skinerd recommends I will do the correct one myself tonight. I have an idea that this ird is shot. I can`t get jkeys 301-508 to read it either.

Prolly smoked the CPU, it's VERY easy to do.
