you need to download the rom102to10 zip file that includes the tsop mod for the receiver and all of the files needed for your rom 10 card. in the zipo has full instructions also. pretty easy to get going. if you can't find it (which should be easy with a search) pm me and I will e-mail it to you

well the version for the card, there is an A and B version the difference is the B version has a password lock in it. also you will need to update the keys, if the versions are not already updated. also make sure you have the 834 software on your 2800 and set it to ask permission before downloading. and never turn the unit off. if you have any trouble I am always checking in be more than happy to get ya going. also do you have the premodded tsop for the 2800? if not I do and can send it to ya. let me know

I've set a 2800 to ask permission before downloading. But it may have taken an update again, as I programmed the rom 10 with the new keys but all the channels are still black. Can dish still mod the 2800 with that option turned off?Does leaving it on all the time help this? Cause I believe the receiver turns off when you take the card out to program it.

yes dish can force an update, but it is my understanding that if you do not turn receiver off it can't update, when you take the card out the receiver doesn't always go off , but if you are worried just unhook the sat in line and then it can't..

good point. I don't own the 2800 so I can't remember if it turns off when the card is removed. Anyone else have to remod their 2800 recently even with the update option turned off?

Dish can just simply send a force update and update your software, the only way to prevent this is by disconnecting/unpluging your IRD...Another thing you can do is get yourself an A/B switch and you can disconnect/reconnect sat with the push of a botton.
