I bought the AVR card (aka plug and play) which hasnt worked yet... I have figured out how to program the card and believe that part is working. I have a old version of software in my box (698) I belive so I read on the forum to use Jkeys and remove SA5 three times and then restream it. I did this and now my box has not come back on since what should I do???????

Could you give more details, how did you restream and what do you mean IRD did not come back ? Have you j-tagged it since you erased ?

I guess this may be where I am lost a little... I used the jkeys program to erase the SA5 sector and then I put the cables back in the IRD and have been waiting since then. Am I needing to do something differnet?

Can you turn the receiver on?
What firmware is on the receiver now?
The AVR-X will not work with 8.34 or 8.54. There is supposed to be a fix soon for them though.

Can you turn it on by hitting the power button on either the remote or IRD?

No I have tried both. I did not worry at first because it said that was normal not to power up.
Try unplugging and/or jacking a card in and out of the slot. Make sure the sat is plugged in and dish is properly aimed to provider desired.

I have plugged and unplugged this IRD and have put in and out the AVR card should I try a regular card?
The AVR-X should work. Just get it programmed correctly, make sure sat cable is hooked up and let it sit for a bit, maybe even overnight. If you got SA5 erased properly it should only take a couple minutes though.
