It seems Direct Tv is going lease only.

Just read on xxx.satelliteguys.us that DTV have told all their dealers they must sign new contracts as they are moving to a lease only program. Dealers may purchase all the equipment until the end of next month, but after that they will not be able to buy it.
Imagine when new subscribers sign for a free 4 room installation and then have to pay monthly fees to lease the equipment.

I wonder if it has anything to do with a soon to be released hack rumours.

Oh well, just thought you may want to know.

I see DTV IRD's for sale outright yet at Walmart.
Heck Walmart rocks for IRD's, I bought about 70 Dish ones there cash and carry in the past. Helped the rom 101/102 stash alot!!!!

i was in wallyworld yesterday. they had about 8-10 stacked for sale @ $99bucks. card id displayed on the bar code. maybe those #'s would help someday.

I know that at the end of the DTV days (before P4) Walmarts here stopped selling receivers with cards. You could buy the receivers there, but had to call Dave to get the card for it.
