What are right legs on pot to have a correct reading on the ohms?

There are usually three legs on a pot. Depending on the type you have, it could be the middle leg and either outside leg, or a front leg and one of the back ones.
Turn the pot all of the way to one side. Then take a reading on two of the legs and see which set gives you a zero reading. Then find the set that gives you the reading of the pots rating...ie 5000 ohms. You should have one leg that is used for both. Use that leg and either of the others and then adjust the pot to where you want it..
